Not sure how it is in other places but if you walk into a restaurant in Texas and ask for tea you'll get iced tea, so more than once someone in my family's accidentally ordered hot tea on vacations

Okay, problem. From what I've read it looks like you can't include warnings for not having certain tags (only if you do include specific ones). Maybe we could search for the tags that are most commonly used in questions without objective winning criteria and add warnings to those?

Okay, bigger issue. Apparently the main part of the popup for new users isn't even customizable...only the part between the title and the list of things you're supposed to do on other SE sites. Honestly I'm not even sure if there's a point to doing this any more.

I think that initial modal is probably confusing more users than it's helping at the moment, and I don't think there's really anything we can do about that other than saying "oh ignore everything under this because we're not allowed to change it", which definitely makes us seem very competent and professional

any of you got any testing tips? I'm only really good at testing the sunshine path of an intended feature/bugfix (i.e. what I expect to happen) so I find it all too easy to introduce regressions on code paths which haven't occurred to me
