I go by "Bro, that's chill" or "Bro, that ain't chill" for most things :P
If it has a ":P" at the end, it's chill :P

@cairdcoinheringaahing Bro, ritual infanticide ain't chill.

That's one of the things that annoys me sometimes on this site, you can't really just say "answers that aren't chill aren't valid", which really is in my opinion the best way to weed out loophole-y and generally rule abusing ones
Now that I think about it, my views toward most things are somewhat unintentionally anarchistic

@RedwolfPrograms Tbf, that was my main gripe with a lot of answers/challenges here. A lot of "technically, ... falls under that, is that allowed?" and I wanted to respond with "Just, ... just don't be a dick and follow the rules in the question"

Exactly

I know it doesn't exactly answer the question, but I was tempted to reply that multiple times
@Adám Bro, golfing a byte is hella chill

12:19 AM
Anyone got a favorite XKCD?

@RedwolfPrograms In this community, there's only one right answer to that question:

I dunno, it's a little unrelated but I've always loved Good Cop, Dadaist Cop

This one hits me too hard :P

> While these specific requirements around pronoun usage apply only to the English language, the goal of being inclusive and respectful of all genders applies to all our communities. As we find best practices in other languages, we’ll work with those communities and update guidance for those languages.

Q: Tiling a staircase with staircases

BubblerBackground A staircase polyomino is a polyomino made of unit squares whose shape resembles a staircase. More formally, a staircase polyomino of size \$n\$ is defined as follows: A staircase polyomino of size 1 is a single unit square. A staircase polyomino of size \$n\$ is the same as that of si...

Q: Minimal maximum byte for Turing Completeness

SisyphusSummary We already have a challenge for the minimal number of characters for Turing completeness. But what about the minimal maximum byte? Challenge For a language of your choice, find a subset of characters that allows your language to be Turing complete with the minimal maximum byte value. Exam...

Don't have enough rep to post in the sandbox, but is 'golf a non random sequence not on OEIS' a decent enough challenge?

@rak1507 It's a good base for a challenge, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a duplicate

Couldn't find it with a quick search, but you're probably right

Check out the tag

Yeah I have, couldn't find it in there

I'd recommend posting an answer on main, grab an upvote or two and head over to the Sandbox then

10:06 AM
I'm flattered that you think I'm smart enough for that

@rak1507 Pick an easy challenge if you don't want anything too difficult :P If you're using a language like Python or JS, you'll get a lot of help from the regular users

@rak1507 try "Scream really loudly"

@rak1507 Supposedly, we've removed the rep limit for posting on meta, but this is the second time someone's mentioned not being able to do so, so I've raised a meta discussion about it

It could well be just that I'm an incompetent moron

Doubt that very much :P

10:17 AM
man lower that self deprecation
just don't be scared to post large answers
that's why the community is there to help

The worst that'll happen is nothing will happen (assuming it's a valid answer). Can't speak for everyone, but the vast majority of users here only downvote invalid/very low quality posts, not valid answers

Alright is there a standard format I can use for posting my answer?

@rak1507 Something like this

tio has a thing for that

If you post the answer, and it doesn't match, someone will edit it (possibly me when it comes up for review :P)

10:19 AM
tio.run ← go here, choose a language, write your program, then click the link icon
then you can copy paste your code golf submission

can probably be golfed way more I'm bad at pointfree stuff

Q: Users with 1 rep aren't able to post answers on Meta

caird coinheringaahingDespite our help page claiming you only need 1 reputation to participate in Meta, multiple users have reported being unable to post answers on Meta, despite being supposed to be (screenshot of a message that shouldn't exist as proof). I guess I could represent it with lambdas, I feel like there must be a way of using non lower case characters for it, anyone have any ideas?

Well it isn't a deleted post, it's a proper 404
Didn't realise SE didn't just count up with their post ids

They mostly just count up, but there's a gap between 45799 and 46797 for some reason.
I do have an 'ID post" on the other site where I'm active: gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/185203/…

Q: Meta syntax highlighting

mattYour job is to pick a language and write a syntax highlighter for it in that language. So for example you could pick Java and then code a syntax highlighter for Java in Java. Whichever submission has the least bytes will win. Happy golfing!

@Bubbler The 05AB1E answer is genuis
Any feedback on either this or this?

@cairdcoinheringaahing Yeah, creative, literally.

11:30 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing For alpha decay, it'd be better if TL;DR part is revised a little: "until 1 is less or equal to 1" → "until at least one is less or equal to 1", "one of the numbers" on the bottom line → "at least one ..."

@Bubbler Yeah, I was thinking how confusing some of it is the other day
TBH, I don't really care too much about the wording, cause I've got enough practice to not screw that up. It's more the core of the challenge, is it a good idea/original/etc.?

For the sandbox one, you didn't link it properly

Ugh, can't edit the message: this challenge

Seems pretty clear, I like it

The tasks are good and clear to me too.
