@AdmBorkBork I'm afraid the UserA behavior is exactly my behavior.

Oh boy, Day 3 of the impeachment hearings in t-30 minutes

1:45 PM
I still recommend PBS to watch it

2:10 PM
It begins

2:20 PM
Why watch it? It doesn't seem like a very entertaining form of entertainment.

Because it's an impeachment hearing? Those don't come along every day

Hmm, I suppose they don't. Maybe they do now though...

Q: geom_vline doesn't work after the scale_x_discrete call

Chryseis Ho1, so I want to plot a graph about the mean NDVI value during a time period (8 dates were chosen from 2019-05 to 2019-10) of my study site (named RB1). 2, Now I have the sentinel2 raster data (Red and NIR band) downloaded from ESA, and have extracted them based on the study site polygon: c_ext...

7 doesn't?
@Neil PowerShell, 38 bytes $args|%{$o+=+"$("2111211212"[$_])"};$o (assumes that 7 also has two syllables)

There's nothing quite like filling out an ESTA application to realize how woefully inadequate your social media is for the eyes of a (sic) highly trained US customs agent.

Shoulda took more selfies, dawg

Curiously, "GitHub" is actually an option. Not that my profile would bode well for a low-risk status.

@A_ Are you just saying that there has been a time where you have downvoted a question?
That's a hot piece of information

I had an idea for how to make a code golf challenge where all languages are equally competitive, so Python solutions can compete against Pyth solutions, for instance.

A: How can I encourage voting for non-golf languages?

isaacgUse a specific code-challenge scoring rule One could use a code-challenge scoring rule, that combines some measure of the inherent golfiness of the language with the code length on this specific challenge. For instance, one might say that the inherent golfiness of a language is the (geometric) ...

Would people be interested in such challenges?

I have an idea for a challenge on golf stackexchange. I would like to post it. however I feel like i might be missing some points / details and will get downvoted (this is my first question here). Is there some tips for newbie ?

@tigrou post first in the sandbox for a couple days (and as extra tips, post in chat with sandbox link once you're about to post it for last-minute feedback, and post in a time you'll be available for some time in case extra questions arise)

@dzaima that is what I was looking for. Thanks

8:17 PM
@tigrou I recommend leaving a challenge in the Sandbox for a week. And as dzaima said, be prepared to "babysit" your challenge for at least 3 hours upon posting the finished challenge.

challenges are hard

@tigrou Indeed. You've only written 9 answers until now. I recommend answering a few more, to get more of feeling for what constitutes a good challenge, before making your own challenges. Of course, you can create a sandbox post now, so you don't forget your idea…

@isaacg There's a Meta post discussing just such a thing somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now.

@isaacg Idea that is close to your description. Trunctuate decimals, not round decimals, where no languages have built-ins. (Even Jelly doesn't have a built-in quite like it.)

@A_ Truncate decimals?
