@JoKing your move

4 hours later…

> Google, set alarm for 1.30pm Chicago time. "OK, alarm with name Chicago time set for 1.30pm tomorrow"
Is it me, or has Google Assistant gotten more stupid lately.

Malicious Compliance

6:02 PM
@mınxomaτ I don't really use it so no idea... but have you tried the name of the timezone?
CDT or whatever

MY question before that was "what's the time in chicago". I thought it might be able to remember context across two questions, but seems I was too generous.

haha
that's unfortunate
On Saturday I learned that "OK Google" was turned on for my phone only when I had Google Maps open... Apparently this is a feature. You can have it only listen to everything you say while you're driving instead of all the time.
I turned that off too :]

My phone no longer updates my position when using it as a GPS. It's great when going to a new area via a new route

Siri usually activates when I say random stuff. Last time it happened, I was talking to my parents (in Portuguese, btw) and Siri just started babbling in my pocket and I was like 'wtf mate'

@Poke Is that so. Then it's gotten plenty of training data on german swearwords from me :)

6:07 PM
haha excellent

6:33 PM
Anyone here using Chrome/ium willing to have a look at something for me?

I have chrome
What are you looking to do

@Poke When I go to aplcart.info/dev2 I get a huge blank screen with only 1.5 line of text scrolling at the bottom, plus the scroll bar is all weird with two down-arrows. Do you get that too?

no

ok, I guess my Chrome is just messed up.

6:37 PM
@Poke Thanks, that looks right.

Do you have any console errors? Have you tried using incognito mode
might be some weird cache thing

@Poke Nope.

@Adám APL permissions have been revoked. Sorry, bud

@Veskah Actually, that site is entirely HTML/CSS/JS

7:01 PM
T'was but a joke saying you're banned from writing APL

@Veskah I understood it was a joke, but I thought you spoke of yourself, i.e. you can't access that due to…

7:12 PM
And that's why you don't omit key pronouns, kids

So I was on a road trip this weekend, and I found this on a gas station bathroom stall:

@Mego What language has »= and ‽ Fortress?

Haskell does

Did you take that picture through a boarded-up window?

Wait, that's congruence, not equals

7:55 PM
@Veskah once I was using a borrowed phone to give me directions. It wouldn't update my position while directions were active... I had to keep cancelling and restarting directions... weird.

@Mego That's cool. My uni's just opened a new building for the CompSci department and it's all white walls and floors and stuff. Every other building in the campus has been tagged by students, except ours. Some friends and I are thinking of starting a "Hello, World!" tag chain in our favourite languages in the bathroom stalls.

8:16 PM
@Veskah Nope, just cropped and redacted to hide the usual stuff you find on bathroom walls :P

@Adám It's Haskell, but they're monad laws, so is being used for equivalence

Q: Inverse Colombian Function

DJMcMayhemLet's define a sequence: The n digit summing sequence (n-DSS) is a sequence that starts with n. If the last number was k, then the next number is k + digit-sum(k). Here are the first few n-DSS: 1-DSS: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 23, 28, 38, 49, 62, 70... 2-DSS: 2, 4, 8, 16, 23, 28, 38, 49, 62, 70, 77... 3-D...

11:13 PM
