ALL TRACKS WORN OUT - REQUESTING EMERGENCY MUSIC DROP
MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY

Wat

ಠ_ಠ

@TùxCräftîñg Are you sure? It seems like they would be rotten

2:02 PM
NEED NEW MUSIC... PREFERABLY INSTRUMENTAL

Type?

@DJMcMayhem they can be rotten, but rotten food dont give food poisoning
AFAIK & AFAICT

Sure, but it could make you puke

@betseg see link for examples of music
it's not very good

2:05 PM
@DJMcMayhem food rations are not always safe, no
but generally the effects are fine

huh i didnt know about this game mechanic

and fresh jackal is also fine

@TùxCräftîñg MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Kewl, thanks

ಠ_ಠ

2:06 PM
@TùxCräftîñg all food goes bad, but iirc k rations and food rations don't have that bad effects
just confusion for like 10 turns
@DJMcMayhem eat them both

Unless I'm stuffing my face full. Overeating is also bad right?

mayday mayday mayday music supplies have been burnt out... requesting emergency music supply drop. Over.

lol my code got rickrolled

Any CMC?

2:08 PM
@betseg Given a list of integers in descending order, output the standard code-golf strikethrough header.
e.g. [10, 7, 5, 4] --> # <s>10, 7, 5</s>, 4
The last comma can be before or after the </s>
@betseg Which one?

how to image processing in ruby?

@DJMcMayhem i;f(n,l)int*n;{printf("<s>");for(;i<l-1;printf("%d, ",n[i++]));printf("</s> %d",n[i]);}
Too long :/

2:31 PM
It's laughably simple in V. 10 bytes: v$2bS<s>i#

it's insanely hard without advanced regex magic in straw

@DJMcMayhem It's actually simple, but C's printing functions make it hard

Yeah, C sucks with strings

cout<<i; vs printf("%d",i);

2:46 PM
Is it a good idea to use antlr4 for esolangs?
I made a simple grammar but I know it'll mess up the keywords (any one-character) and variable names (lots of characters)

@Midnightas it's like using a bazooka to kill a fly

alright then

@DJMcMayhem Question was already answered but just to put in perspective non corpse people food is usually called "permafood." It should never kill you

Is it legal in the Nineteenth Byte to "something"-roll?

2:51 PM
for hells sake you got me there xD

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

people are cool

@quartata OK, thanks. Hey BTW, I tried installing CG last night, but apparently windows hates python-pcre (it failed to build). :(
I'll try it again on Linux

Hrm.

2:53 PM
aww

Yeah, it said it was missing a header file
I think it was pcre.h but I could be wrong

if you add a + at the end of a bit.ly link it'll give you the analytics

Do you know if pcre is open source? I might try to patch it, or at the very least submit an issue

@DJMcMayhem PCRE? svn://vcs.exim.org/pcre2/code/trunk pcre

Nvmd, I just found the github

2:58 PM
Dammit one of my RL friends is going to reach the Sanctum soon. If he ascends I'm going to lose a 4 year old bet

Oh. I have to download PCRE, and the python library, haha

@DJMcMayhem Where?

Now would probably be a good time for me to try a last minute dig for victory haha

That's not PCRE. That's the Python bindings. PCRE is at the above SVN trunk.

3:00 PM
@quartata how long does an average run last for you?
@mınxomaτ Yeah, I just figured that out

@DJMcMayhem Yeah you need the PCRE header files

@DJMcMayhem I usually make it to 13-15 before getting hideous RNG
I have made it below the castle once

Sorry, I meant in minutes. Wait, how many levels are there?

In minutes? Wouldn't know since I usually save
This run is actually 2 years old: he found the save for it on another computer
@DJMcMayhem Depends. Usually 50 levels

3:04 PM
OK, I'm gonna go try CG again.
There's a CG room, right?

It's frozen

Any mods present?

no

@Doorknob That's a relief.

ok

3:05 PM
Mods ruin all the fun. :P

@DJMcMayhem Yeah, totally. Mods are the worst.

@quartata Link?

You heard it. If a mod said it, it must be true.

aww, @flawr what you said reminded me of what happened at 4chan like 5 years ago

To the room? I'm on mobile so I can't get it. It should be on my chat profile though

@Midnightas it seems their mods are still asleep

@El'endiaStarman Does TNBDE parse new parts of the transcript automagically? Or does it only go up to August or whatever

3:27 PM
@quartata It uses a cron job to parse new parts of the transcript automagically.

@HelkaHomba Hey, I loved the last MMC (minecraft mini challenge). Not the triangular numbers, but the one with f(n) = f(n - 1) * 2 + 3^n. Mind if I steal that for a challenge?

To be honest, I don't think the site-wide reasoning against monetary prizes applies to PPCG. The main reasons against it are 1) decreased quality of answers as everyone attempts to throw their hat into the ring (which is the opposite of what would happen here given an objective competition). 2) paying people to do your work for you (we typically don't like that /close those questions anyway).
That being said, that recent question is uber-sketch and should be closed regardless.

A: The community is against cash prizes, but should that be advice or a rule?

DoorknobMy view, as a regular user and not as a moderator, is that there's really no way to consistently enforce this. There is no way to prevent a user from, say, emailing the winner of the challenge to offer a prize. So, the question we should really be asking is: Should we allow users to publicly adv...
