I run a company that does Big Data analytics. The analysis is focused on security.
So instead of looking at the company (pentest), we are filtering data traffic provided by our own crawlers and upstream providers to find risks. That could be a planned attack, leaked documents, other sensitive meta-data etc. Basically XKeyscore, but legal.

@DJMcMayhem I wrote that for a beta version of a crawler we use to get past the ~2M packets/second bottleneck on non-Intel NICs. It crashed almost all routers I've tested or severely impacted traffic on other ports.
@mınxomaτ Wow. That's actually really funny. The only stuff I've done that's heavily into TCP/IP is on a totally different scale. Like maybe 5-10 packets/second, so we just stuck with lwip
@DJMcMayhem I love the Intel GbE NICs. There's a custom linux driver (PF_RING) that allows 10Mpps. However, almost no data center lets us deploy these servers (because they basically need one whole router each).
@DJMcMayhem Well, I created the network architecture in 2012 and I'm still responsible for it. But to save us money, I try new ways to get the last drop of performance out of existing servers.
@mınxomaτ This client has a motion control system that communicates over serial (rs 485) and a servo motor that communicates over ethernet, so we're design a board to be the MiTM to allow communication.
