@Bálint I saw @echo off and then cls. I worked out that cls meant "clear screen` and I worked out that echo echoed things, unless you said on or off, and that @ silenced the output of a command.

@Lynn Apart from the ridiculous double dash that's quite interesting: in Germany one partner can choose to take the double name (but not both), and the kids can never have both names (in the above case they'd have the name of the parent who kept their name)

In Texas it's much less complicated: by default, the bride takes the groom's name for hetero marriages. Gay marriage hasn't been legal long enough for a tradition to be established, but either can take the other's name. However, that default can be overridden by anyone (groom can take the bride's name, they can combine their names, they can take an entirely different name, they can keep their names, etc.).

In Texas, you can legally change your name to anything that's not offensive/illegal, so long as you pay a fee, fill out some paperwork, and get it approved by a judge.
