@user All of you failed the captcha, it's a picture of the sun

@NewPosts the port of the formula is 9 bytes in Jelly i believe

6:27 PM
@NewPosts lol, that was easy

6:44 PM
Is it just me, or is this rendering a bit odd, where the *s cause italics, while still being visible?

Can reproduce in Firefox

Yeah, the 3 looks weirdly slanted

... can reproduce in Firefox, but not in the edit preview

Yep, can repro on chrome

Chredium too
OK, I'll log it on MM.

6:46 PM
Seems to change from the correct one after a bit, so probably conflict between two MD renderers?

Yes, SE does this odd client-side render, then update with server's.
Chat does that too, but doesn't have that bug.

Wheat WizardSliding dice We have 3 dice in a square dish. The dish is 8 units wide and tall and each die is 3 units wide and tall. I'm going to post this in a few minutes, last chance for feedback.

@Adám Hmm, I can't repro on MM

Try with code highlighting maybe?

6:52 PM
It's rendering with hljs-emphasis for me (which is just italics).

@cairdcoinheringaahing Me neither.
@RedwolfPrograms Nope.

```
<pre class="lang-apl s-code-block"><code class="hljs language-markdown">2÷⍨1-2∘<span class="hljs-emphasis">*-3*</span>-∘1
</code></pre>
```

Oh, it does happen on MM.
But only for 3 and not for I.
Does happen for II though.

i think that some people who used to be interested in my malbolge things might appreciate this

@Adám ...that's a very strange bug

6:56 PM
today i overhauled my lisp interpreter in malbolge
added let, cond, iota, size, tested a quicksort, insertion sort, a maximum over an array, etc...
it's also much faster now and the memory efficient version requires only 800MB of RAM

i should try writing a malbolge answer at least once just so i can fully / better appreciate this :p

recommended :')

@KamilaSzewczyk Have you considered making a Malbolge interpreter, written in your Malbolge-Lisp interpreter?

hehe, maybe eventually. the quicksort takes around 30 minutes to execute, though, so I believe a malbolge interpreter written in lisp written in malbolge could take even longer, even for simple programs..
i published the source code for my interpreter, and if anyone can improve it to be faster or more memory efficient i'll definitely enjoy it and be really thankful

Nice lisp

7:01 PM
i will be surprised if i can even understand any of it. i would like to figure it out but TBH i only looked at the esolang wiki page for malbolge for a bit because i noticed this project and don't really understand the language lol

@KamilaSzewczyk iota?

Q: Sliding Dice in a Dish

@Adám it does exactly what you'd expect :)

Right, but is that like a standard Lisp thing too, with that name?

i don't think so
i'm just adding things I like, and extending upon the "baseline" lisp
@hyper-neutrino this article might be helpful: esolangs.org/wiki/Malbolge_programming
so far the program I wrote is probably the most complex malbolge program ever made

7:04 PM
ah, so there's an article on the language itself and then a separate article on how to actually use it :D I will take a look thanks

A: Inconsistent Identicon between main and meta sites

Dean WardWell this is fun, metas typically inherit their parent site's details, but the backfill ran for each site independently which means the calculation for a Gravatar works on the data in each site's database. There is a slight inconsistency between some main site and meta site users that meant the G...

btw: can someone help me a bit? i'll be unable to get on my PC until a few days, and esolangs.org/wiki/MalbolgeLisp contains an outdated description of the language
(i don't remember the password to my esolangs wiki account and i forgot the email address i signed it up for)
basically all i want is the current readme being pasted in a <code> block inside the article i guess :P (leaving the infobox)

where on the page do you want it? or do you want it to replace the current specs+examples

7:32 PM
Looks like this has no objections to it, and the synonym is still suggested, so should we synonymise with ?

Who has enough rep in that tag, though?

@hyper-neutrino current specs + example

7:50 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing I still disagree but whatever the community wants I guess

@KamilaSzewczyk does this look right?

if you keep the infobox - yeah

Is the infobox just the thing to the right with the paradigm/other details/etc? (I didn't touch the ((infobox proglang ... )) part at the top of the source)

alright done - just let me know if i messed up anything lol

7:54 PM
lgtm

8:06 PM
@user Any of these users, plus some more

8:55 PM
Oh, I thought you needed rep in for that

No, that would make tag synonym voting basically impossible

in that case only tags that have significant presence can be synonymized
which is sort of counterproductive :p

9:24 PM
@NewPosts There are 5 Jelly answers, all with different approaches and by different users :P

9:37 PM
:P

10:16 PM
classic
i am in the middle of a university orientation event but now i'm having to fight the temptation to be #6

caird, you need to kick Unrelated String out for their own good :P
@UnrelatedString (also, good luck)

> 6 bytes
okay maybe not

I can probably write a 69-byter, but I have a feeling that's less impressive in Jelly than it is in Scala :P

10:34 PM
@user Nice
