This answer is beautiful, but I have no idea how it works.

Regarding Best of 2020, I have something to self-nominate for Wild Card, though I'll wait another week to see if anyone else remembers it
I should search your profile for underappreciated answers
I've been scrolling through the answers to my questions for good answers to nominate :P
Nothing from Bubbler from what I can remember tho :/
I've an idea for a self-nomination wild card too now
Personally, I think people should be nominating any and all posts they think could be deserving. Worst case scenario is that you don't win the bounty, no-one's gonna think "Oh look at this self-aggrandizing fool" because you think an answer/challenge of yours is cool
So yeah, @Lyxal, @Bubbler, go ahead and post your nominations, I'm dropping upvotes to pretty much everything that gets nominated :P

Q: A graph and its seven closures

BubblerBackground A little while ago, someone posted an interesting puzzle on Math.SE: What is the smallest digraph (directed graph) G where the following eight graphs are all distinct: G, the original graph Reflexive closure of G Symmetric closure of G Transitive closure of G Reflexive symmetric clos...

3:00 AM
@cairdcoinheringaahing silently self nominates every post I wrote this year
Kidding of course :p
@RedwolfPrograms I posted the answers remember, meaning I get a notification whenever someone edits them :P
How annoyed would everyone be if I generated a nomination for every question and answer posted in 2020? :p
I'd have my finger over the Rollback button :P
All 14 of them :p
@cairdcoinheringaahing looks like when Bubbler adds their wild card nomination, we'll have a 3 way competition for the bounty
3:11 AM
@Lyxal Suggestion: your nomination would actually fit quite well under Most involvement
Four way
@cairdcoinheringaahing oh lol
Hey can I ask a favour
Could you move it up there for me?
I'm on mobile rn
I'll do it
And editing is a real pain
@RedwolfPrograms thanks!
About to make some coffee, if Redwolf's got it, that'd be great
3:12 AM
Don't anyone dare start up the debate again :p
Also, it's past 4am here, and I'm making my 3rd cup of coffee :/
@RedwolfPrograms Hey, I need this to stay awake
Got my nomination submitted and Lyxal's moved
Unrelated, what is/was school lunch food like in other places?
Nice. Looks like we only have 4 categories that are currently uncontested, and one without any nominations!
@RedwolfPrograms Got better as I moved through school
Last two years were great, 10 years before, not so much
For me it's gotten worse. In Kindergarten we got more food that I'm getting 10 years later :/
Hmm yeah, Hexasweep was on my list of APL bounty hunt, now its value dropped from 400 to 200 :/
Three users using the same emoticon :/
3:18 AM
I swear, I don't know how you make hamburger meat crunchy on the outside with the consistency of a sponge on the inside
Damn, at least say something Lyxal :/
@RedwolfPrograms Very high heat, don't cook it for long enough
@RedwolfPrograms gourmet as heck for the last two years
@Lyxal The crown definitely prefers sixth form students :P
@cairdcoinheringaahing no our school has a cafe
3:30 AM
Our school has a great overestimation of their cooking abilities
It's supposedly "healthy", although the joke is of course that there's half as much sugar/fat/salt because they give us half the amount of food we need
Reminds me of an ad I once saw, something like "Introducing the new lite beer. It's a normal beer, but you only drink half" or something similar
Is school food really that bad? I’ve heard complaints about it from time to time, but I thought it was more of a joke.
I mean I'm mostly fine with the food at my school but if you blindfolded me and had me eat something from there I probably wouldn't be able to tell you what it was supposed to be
My main complaint is just that there's so little, and that the amount stays the same each year despite the cost increasing
Huh. In elementary school, I always had a problem with getting too much food. They’d force us to eat it all.
Maybe it’s because I went to a private school?
Probably. I'm sure our food is just contracted out to the lowest bidder.
3:42 AM
Okay, I added a Wild Card self nomination
Now the only empty category is Underappreciated Challenge
Cue me nominating my lowest score questions.
Wild card is going to be competitive :p

This should be a good query
For Underappreciated challenges

Q: Merge Two Paragraphs with Removing Duplicated Lines

Each input paragraph is with the follows specifications. The leading/trailing spaces in each line have been removed. No empty line. The output merged...

(I don't think I have a suitable answer for Underappreciated Answer, because almost every answer I put serious effort into got an APL bounty)

8:55 AM
my CMC didn't go down well it seems :(
@cairdcoinheringaahing just from the text that says "About 2,460,000,000 results "
@JohnDvorak I just mean Google's guess
@user if that's the best way then fine
1 hour later…
10:03 AM
@Anush CMCs involving the internet rarely get a lot of answers, they’re just too much work
I suspect this particular question is not too hard
10:48 AM
CMC: Given a floating-point (or double if your language doesn't support float) number, return (any or all of) the nearest floating-point number that is not equal. Example: for a double of 2**53 return 2**53-1 (because it's closer than 2**53+2)
11:42 AM
@Bubbler (choose one which didn't get a bounty yet)
2 hours later…
1:52 PM
@Neil I think you could do that just by flipping the LSB of the mantissa, right?
2:33 PM
In its current state, would Bot Factory KoTH (2.0) be closed? If the old one were closed as a dupe of the new one that would be fine, right?
2:44 PM
Q: Approx how many search results

AnushInput A short string of length at most 10 with characters from a-z. Output The approx count that Google reports for the number of hits. Example Input: "fish". Output: 2280000000 Input: "quantock" Output: 1350000 You may use any regional Google you like. This is code-golf, so the shortest code in ...

@RedwolfPrograms Personally, I'm in favour of occasional reposts, and the circumstances around this one basically negates the concerns/counterarguements (e.g. OP's original work, answers can be ported, etc.), so regarding the reposting side, I say go for it, and VTC the old one as dupe
I'll leave it in the sandbox for a few days probably, just in case
2:59 PM
Is it considered acceptable to nominate yourself for Best Of multiple times?
I just clipped through a staircase in Super Mario Bros. 3 (1-1) and I have no idea how
@user I wouldn't think anything of it, especially given that you've nominated other people
@RedwolfPrograms By "clipped through," do you mean you went through it like a ghost?
Yeah, sort of.
I've seen people intentionally clip in some levels in speedruns, but never the way I did
3:17 PM
sad about the downvotes. It's a harmless and simple challenge!
I wouldn't worry about it too much (most of my first few challenges were awful :p). I'd recommend the sandbox for future challenges though.
I'm not sure why people are downvoting it either. While it's not a particularly interesting challenge (to me), it's not a bad challenge at all.
@user that's my analysis of the challenge too :)
there are people who love their golfing language which doesn't support internet access I suppose
No, I'm pretty sure there are well-received challenges like this one out there.
@user ah ok
3:25 PM
I think this one's just too similar to existing fetch-from-the-internet type challenges
That's possible.
I think it's just me
they are Anushphobic
They fear you for the expert golfer you will be some day.
Challenge writing takes a lot of practice. it's not just you :p
my real love is coding challenges that are hard and not code-golf
but I was trying to please the crowd :)

CMC (reposting because not many people answered last time): Find all increasing and decreasing runs of an array, and reverse each. Earlier runs take precedence.
by earlier runs take precedence I assume you mean 1 2 3 4 5 3 1 -> 5 4 3 2 1 1 3 rather than 4 3 2 1 1 3 5
behavior on adjacent equal elements?

7:55 PM
On adjacent equal elements, treat the second as part of yhe first run

@Adám done
9:51 PM
@Anush I don't think it's the challenge itself that's gathering downvotes. I think it was the formatting of the post.
I know when I first looked at it, it felt like there was something wrong (even though there isn't)
So hopefully now that it looks a bit more standard, it'll get more up votes
Oh nice, it's +3 now!
Yeah it definitely looks much better now, I have no idea why. Maybe because the new margins make single lines ugly.
Or the introduction and code block, those make it feel more "padded"
@Lyxal cool. I have never been good at presentations
still very close to being closed!
@Anush so you're okay with my edits?
@Anush with a bit of luck, they'll age away harmlessly.
@Lyxal they are awesome
@RedwolfPrograms I wonder who did that...
9:59 PM
thank you
@Lyxal ah ok. That's a shame
is it because TIO doesn't allow internet access?
@Anush because tio doesn't allow Web access, Kevin "simulated" the scraping part by putting it as input
However, there's a lot of information
Hence the split post
I didn't realise tio didn't allow internet access
that's a shame for any [internet] questions
That's "safe mode" for ya
10:32 PM
@Anush Even for the most experienced challenge writers, hard challenges can be difficult to get right. I know it’s often a bit of a hassle, but using the Sandbox really is the best way to avoid VTCs and downvotes when posting a challenge
Also, we now only have 5 categories that are “uncontested” for the Best Of 2020! Let’s see if we can get to 0!
I'm way too impatient for the sandbox, but when I do sandbox a question it tends to do much better than if I post it immediately
10:44 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing it'll be 4 when I'm next at my computer
@RedwolfPrograms whenever I see a chrome book on display in technology stores, I like to go over to it, push random buttons on the keyboard and say "hehe look at me I'm redwolf"
Please do not question why
For there is no why
11:00 PM
@Lyxal Why?
@user hey there buddy. You seem to not be able to read, because I said d o n o t q u e s t i o n w h y
There's always a why.
Was it for money, for fame, for love, for your country, for your family?
Or is it because you are an alt account of Redwolf?
Hmm, something I said to Lyxal offended you. Obviously, you two are the same person.
11:23 PM
@user there is no because
@user well
You uh
Werent supposed to figure that out

Is Redwolf Programs a hivemind?
Everyone is redwolf
Whether they like it or not
Except dennis
Dennis is dennis
Everyone else is redwolf
Everyone? Even me?
Oh God, is there a mind-controlling parasite in my brain already?
And you can't do anything about it
It was the vaccine, wasn't it? It must have been the vaccine. I knew I shouldn't have taken it.
11:28 PM
Why are you so upset about being apart of redwolf?
We have cookies and decent health insurance
Tasty cookies or information cookies?
> decent health insurance
We already know everything about you
All right, I'm in
11:28 PM
@user you already were
I just want to be able to pay for my teeth.
@Lyxal Sorry, I'm still getting used to the idea.
Meanwhile I'm on YouTube writing a 1500 word story in the comments from the perspective of an ice cream licking mob boss
@user alls good
You get used to it eventually
@RedwolfPrograms but shouldn't you be directing your loyal hivemind subjects?
