Q: Should we remove unnecessary restrictions on the factorial challenge?

BubblerThe Factorial challenge is one of the canonical challenges on our site. Just like "Hello World", "Add two numbers", "Primality test", and "Fibonacci", it attracts answers written in newly created languages every now and then. But still, it has a set of old-fashioned requirements on the domain, pe...

A: Default for Code Golf: Input/Output methods

Jo KingNumerical input and output can be given as a character code For example, the input 64 can instead be given as the character @. This is mainly used for more esoteric languages that can only take input through character codes, for example brainfuck.

number input is the same size, and works fine.
MAWP accepts multi digit numbers now.

it does?

@Razetime I'd check the MAWP chatroom if I were you
Interpreter has had an update

@user202729 huh, I just tried mixing 2-way and 3-way branches, and 2-way branches did much worse. The best result was 22 3-way branches, then 2 2-way branches followed by 21 3-way branches, then 21 3-way branches followed by 2 2-way branches

Today I farmed 120 reps!

good to know

Hit 200 rep to get the Mortarboard badge.
You're just 80 rep away from that!

Q: How do I let others use my custom golfing language?

Daniel H.I'm currently working on my own golfing language which is based on Python 3. Once this language is finished, what would be the best way to let other people use it? I know TIO is very widespread here, and that some users' languages are on TIO - is there a way to get my language on TIO as well (and...

@HighlyRadioactive Yes I did.

A: Round towards zero

HighlyRadioactive><>, 6 bytes :1%-n; Try it online! Assuming the input is pushed onto the stack. The language specification allowed doing so: While parsing numbers is not very hard, it makes for slow and possibly glitchy programs. Most programs requiring number input reads it from the stack at program sta...

@Neil (I thought that more 2-way branches would be better...)

Q: The 1+ Metagolf Challenge

HighlyRadioactiveI'm letting this one out of the sandbox. Hopefully it is well-written and make sense, feel free to improve. So in order to make 1+ more popular (and ease the creation of golfed 1+ text-printing programs) here comes the metagolf challenge. The 1+ Language 1+ is a fun deque-based esolang where 1 is...

Did you mean 21 lines of (*)?

3:08 PM
@Anush

Perhaps some micro-optimization (including half a line) can be useful.

@JohnDvorak nice!
which language did you do it in?
ah wolfram alpha
almost cheating :)

@HighlyRadioactive welp
I farmed a lot of rep on this one Malbolge answer
it was actually dead simple to make and most of the answers I put the most time into are currently lying at +0 lol
I don't post this much anymore nowadays mostly due to personal reasons, but chances are I'll go back to solving some CGCC tasks

It would be better if there's some way to interactively modify the graph and see the score...
(I know Python, but counting the correct row and column is not easy.)
(obviously about this challenge).

3:20 PM
OK, that is cheating :D

actually I like that :)

@petStorm I posted 1+ Metagolf to get to 200 reps
