@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ hmm..
@EasterlyIrk whats ff?

@AshwinGupta they break when the bugs hit the max distance towards the left.
Then they don't die.

@AshwinGupta firefox

@AshwinGupta Firefox.
ninj'aed
but mine had capitalization.

oh, well I built it for chrome, could be a problem w/ firefox
I'll try it w/ firefox

1:00 AM
@EasterlyIrk whys that?

TFW SpaceX opens an office in your city and yet they're only hiring literal rocket scientists...

@AshwinGupta idk

@AlexA. <3 SpaceX!

@AlexA. I doubt they'd be programming in any languages you'd like though.

they don't die
@AlexA. rofl
probably JAVA or JS

1:01 AM
@EasterlyIrk hmm well ty for pointing it out, I'll try to find the root

They refuse to die when that happens.
Also, bullets hit aliens, they both die. (bullet and alien)

oh
that was intentional
should I change that?
I figured that the bullet hits the alien and they both explode
I'll put in explosion effect later

@EasterlyIrk No....
It's probably mostly C and assembly.

@quartata who cares, working at SpaceX would be AMAZING...

I wouldn't want to. It's probably a pretty stressful job.
I suppose it depends on what you do there.

1:07 AM
@quartata I was joking.
@quartata I'll steer the rocket if you pay me 100 bucks an hour.
(read: sit in chair doing nothing)

@EasterlyIrk They used JS? That must be why their first few ocean landing attempts failed...
8

@AshwinGupta the bullet keeps going
@Downgoat rofl

ohhh
I forgot to program it then, ty
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ weird, it works on my FF?: youtu.be/Jbchkhx8yJw

did you upload the sprite files?
or are they local

^^
@AshwinGupta did you push the changes?

1:11 AM
@EasterlyIrk yeah, I'll double check though
one more bug fix to go, one more bug fix to go! Fix a bug and sing a happy song, 99 more bug fixes to go... (to the tune of bottles of beer)

Easterly IrkFuzzy Octo Guacamole Factoid: Do to the longness of the name, Fuzzy Octo Guacamole is also known as FOG, and rarely Fuzztoguac. Length 1: : Prints [], which is the empty stack. @Downgoat no
we really can't

@EasterlyIrk where can I learn FOG?

Do you know python?

1:27 AM
Yeah a bit.

Read the incomplete list of commands, on the wiki, or the source code here.

@QPaysTaxes just like fractinos but with an r delimiting them

@EasterlyIrk these languages like urs and brainf*ck hurt my head lol...

1:29 AM
@AshwinGupta hey not like bf
@Quill 10/10 have it installed
How is it?

@EasterlyIrk well yeah urs is for golf I assume?

R  -> <R'>r
R' -> <Integer> / <Integer>
      <Integer>

yeah

@EasterlyIrk You use Atom? :(

but mine has no tape

1:30 AM
cool =D

@QPaysTaxes ^^^^^

@quartata nopep

OK, good.

only have that installed if I every do use it. :P
@AshwinGupta the only thing similar is the goto

> There is no benefit that can come from changing "color" to "colour"
Agreed :D

1:30 AM
@QPaysTaxes :'(

@Geobits its also less golfy

@Geobits I knouw right

@quartata there's a whole bunch of the same plugin for other editors

@Downgoat Can't tell if intentional or hooves ;)

@EasterlyIrk still installing another package

1:32 AM
@Geobits It's a jouke

Still can't tell...

@Geobits Somebody edited one of my questions once with a change like that, I literally had to explain to them that's how non-US spelling works

hee iz himarm jr jr

apparently they had no idea about it

lol

1:33 AM
@Geobits source?

A: Edits of default scoring units in answers

DoorknobPlease do not make this type of edit. Firstly, this is a matter of personal opinion. You shouldn't be editing posts for style. There is no benefit that can come from changing "color" to "colour;" that's solely a matter of personal usage, and there's no reason to change it from one person's part...

@Quill you use colour in AU?

@EasterlyIrk Yea, they even put an extraneous U in the country's name.

@EasterlyIrk Yeah, most countries outside the US use that spelling

okai
I thought so.

1:34 AM
Plus Australia is part of the British Commonwealth

@EasterlyIrk D: I like Australia less now

@Downgoat ;-(

@Quill I didn't say I don't like Australia

I like goats less now.

1:35 AM
@Geobits ;_;

@Downgoat I didn't say I don't like goats ;)

I actually prefer colour as a spelling but color is so burnt into my skull I couldn't possibly switch

@Geobits -1 for unoriginal joke

@Downgoat why?
@quartata same

1:36 AM
@Doorknob I wish I knew more Vim ;-;
so cool ;-;

@Downgoat Joke's on you. They still haven't implemented downstars.

^^
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I got my python mayan numbers working.

@EasterlyIrk color is better and more golfy spelling. I don't know if it's because I've been seeing and using color since forever but colour just looks wrong

#!/usr/bin/env python2

@Quill Feel free to ping me if you want any help :)

1:37 AM
@EasterlyIrk D: Python 2

@Downgoat D: Python-Hater

@Doorknob hey thanks :D

It's not that it's python, it's that it's python 2.

@EasterlyIrk I never said Python's bad, I just am sad that it's not JavaScript ES6

@Geobits hell naw
2 > 3 in terms of python
@Downgoat okai
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ wrote a ES6 one already. :P

1:38 AM
WHY WOULD YOU EXPLICITLY USE PYTHON 2
D: D: D: D:

@EasterlyIrk That's not high praise for python at all...

BECAUSE 3 SUCKS
@Geobits no it isn't

ಠ_ಠ

Python 2 : Python 3 :: JavaScript ES5 : JavaScript ES6
@EasterlyIrk baiye!

1:39 AM
@Downgoat This is false. Python 2 is usable. ES5 is not.

@quartata since when is a modern language without unicode support useable?

@quartata Also, both pythons are programming languages, while ESx is just trash :P

Python 2 has Unicode support.
Who told you it didn't

llama@llama:~$ python
Python 2.7.11+ (default, Apr 17 2016, 14:00:29)
[GCC 5.3.1 20160409] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

>>> chr(257)

gg python

1:42 AM
chr() has never supported Unicode.
Nor should it.

^

why?
yes it does?

>>> print unichr(9830)
♦

> Return a string of one character whose ASCII code is the integer i.

Not Python's fault you don't know how to use it ;)

1:43 AM
^^ straight from the docs for chr()

It's pythons fault I need to prepend u to all unicode strings

@Downgoat Not really.

@quartata Why is ES5 unusable?

You know why.

@quartata then whose fault is it?
48 secs ago, by Doorknob
Not Python's fault you don't know how to use it ;)
s/Python/JS ES5/

1:44 AM
Oh, I know (or at least used to) how to use JS.
That doesn't make it trash.

uh huh...

I think everyone admits that ES6 is better than ES5.

37 mins ago, by Downgoat
@EasterlyIrk They used JS? That must be why their first few ocean landing attempts failed...

@quartata yes (babel ftw)

Let's not argue....
Pretty shit topic to argue about too....

1:45 AM
Are you being endorsed by Babel?
(:P)
If they offered you free goat snacks for life it was a trap

@quartata oh shi— noo, what makes you say that?
@quartata really???? D: D: D:

@quartata I dunno, that sounds like a pretty sweet deal tbh (well, for a goat).

brb contacting my lawyer
@Geobits yes, it was
>>> '1'+1
['1', 1]
wat

what

I think my python is broken again

1:47 AM
That's not normal Python behavior.
It should give you TypeError: cannot concatenate 'str' and 'int' objects

@quartata does that in python 3

It should do that in Python 2 as well
Yeah, I just tried it.

._.
I'll reinstall python

Have you tried turning it on and off again?

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ just did, that fixed it

1:53 AM
alert('1'+1) gives '11' in js, so if you really need a 'wat' target, there's always that :P

that kinda does make sense tho

JavaScript is literally the original wat.

@Downgoat Only if you accept js's definition of "sense".

@QPaysTaxes Please don't tell me you're writing this my hand >_<
@Geobits I use Babel™ so I don't need to

@Geobits Actually that's fine.
Java does that too
What's not fine is {} + [] = 0

It tries to join by the left type in JS with that string one

@QPaysTaxes you cannot
you can code esolangs by hand, you can't write real languages by hand
they get incredibly complex way to quick

Main.java:12: error: incompatible types: int cannot be converted to String
String a = '1' + 1;

you may be able to do it but it will be impossible to maintain
> Why are parsers so hard to write

1:55 AM
@Geobits uhh try "1" + 1?
This used to work

How to get stars in TNB. Step one: xkcd.

@QPaysTaxes that contradicts what you just said

@quartata Yea, it works that way ;)

Yeah '1' is a char :P
So it promotes char to int adds them and tries to cast to String

... ninja'd :(
