Yeah. Being creative with the tools you are handed.

I think you only said that
i cannot search because
3 mins ago, by Dennis
OK, chat search is borken.
since forever

@FlagAsSpam should I flag your questions?

borked*

@TanMath yes Flag As Spam

@FlagAsSpam borked+broken -> borken

8:00 PM
@TanMath ಠ_ಠ do it, and I eat your questions.
Because spam is food.

@FlagAsSpam well, you mean "eat my questions"*

@TanMath I am aware.
That's why I said it. c:

@Optimizer no, he means what he said

8:02 PM
@FlagAsSpam that spam means disruptive online messages?

@TanMath no. coz his questions will be spam, so they would be edible

Ooh after looking KotH challenges, now I have three questions I want to sandbox. Bacon, VIC and a KotH about a card game that's popular in my city (and other parts of Asia, though I can only speak for my city)

@TanMath Spam is also a brand of meat.

@Optimizer but he is saying he will mark mine as spam as well i.e. he is going to eat my questions

@Optimizer Mhmm. :D
@TanMath YES!

8:03 PM
@TanMath ohh

There we go.

I am sorry, I don't easily get lame jokes

let the spam battle begin! (problem is, I only have one question! sorry, but you can't eat my questions, since there is only one!)
@Optimizer i understand, llama

@Optimizer Ah, then you won't like my jokes about amputees!

@Sherlock9 what is that?

8:05 PM
I didn't get that as well

Jokes about the lame

^ tell me!

/me headdesks.

@FlagAsSpam i wish i saw you do that

@TanMath I'm afraid I don't actually have one prepared. I was mostly telling a joke about telling jokes

8:06 PM
@Sherlock9 oh!

@NathanMerrill gist.github.com/VisualMelon/f0c8adb7558fbc81b36f that's a working C# example, I can imagine it might be a pain dealing with unresponsive clients, but it's no effort for the client process

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

TanMathDetermine if a number is a palindromic concatenation of squares Just some time ago, I was looking at my user number, 10401, and realized it is a palindromic number with only squares as its digits. So now, I want to find many more numbers like this, and you can help me by writing a program that d...

XD @FlagAsSpam

I swear, if the words "Why is this downvoted" appear on my screen...
flagasspam
o-o
Flag ass pam?

@Sherlock9 hahaa
@FlagAsSpam noticed that too!

8:08 PM
o-o The anagrams of FlagAsSpam are horrendous. xD

@FlagAsSpam yes... let us include it in the many memes of PPCG

why not?

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

AdnanCops and Robbers - Small adjustments, big changes cops-and-robbers The task is as following. You need to provide a program, which outputs anything you want. But when you delete 3 characters in the code, running your program will output something different. You may not use any comments in yo...

Because it's terrible?

8:09 PM
@ev3commander s/ //

going to submit

@ev3commander You've used D3?

Why I wonder do we flag spam? Is putting a flag on spam a good way to eat spam? This seems odd to me. Downvoted when someone realizes what the first words of these sentences are :P

@El'endiaStarman once

@TanMath Seriously don't.

8:10 PM
@FlagAsSpam too late!

:25857944 s/ // <-- regex substitution to remove spaces

@ev3commander Same, so far. I plan to use it more often though. And probably dabble in Three.js too.

I'm almost ready to post this. Any last minute review?

@PhiNotPi I need some clarification concerning your KoTH server. How do users submit their bots? Do I need to push them to Github?

8:11 PM
Darn I think you missed my message, @FlagAsSpam

nope

@TanMath ಠ_ಠ

@FlagAsSpam you are lucky, reversed it

i can't tag

@TanMath I saw it. And now it is forever in the edit history. ಠ_ಠ

8:12 PM
@FlagAsSpam what to do?

@ev3commander The syntax is [tag:something]

You were close before, that's why I tried to say remove the space

8:12 PM
But I golfed the way I told you that

@FlagAsSpam shall I flag as spamming snake?

next time you do this, I am going to flag!
as spam!

If you do I'm going to decline your flag.
@FlagAsSpam Quit hissing.
I have so little patience today. ಠ_ಠ

@AlexA. Ook?

8:14 PM
@AlexA. hipocrite (no offense, but telling the truth)

> hippocrate

@ev3commander ಠ_ಠ

@TanMath Flags should be used for serious matters only.

8:15 PM
The hypotenuse oath

@AlexA. so why were you guys making a big deal when I was "sssss"ing away?

People asked you to stop and you didn't.

BTW, I am still working to golf this, any ideas?:

A: Bernoulli Numbers

TanMathPython 3, 184 225 221 194 193 bytes This is based on Mego's example implementation, except golfed further. EDIT: Fixed and working now. Just here as a reference since most bytes for Python 3. EDIT: Now beating Sherlock9's answer. Thanks @quintopia! EDIT: The last two statements -> one stateme...

@AlexA. I asked to stop, he didn't

@TanMath I did. :P

@TanMath You didn't ask him to stop, you said you were going to flag as spam. It wasn't clear whether you were joking.

8:17 PM
^
> Rಠ_ಠd Bಠnk

fine
my mistake

@TanMath stop messaging or I will flag your message as spam!

@AlexA. How do you decide where the periods go when you type?

@Optimizer you stop messaging, or @FlagAsSpam will FlagAsSpam!

So much spam.

8:18 PM
@Rainbolt What?

see, now you messaged, so I am gonna spam!

@Rainbolt by using the knowledge of English

from fraction import*

@Optimizer me too!

@AlexA. Sentence, sentence. Sentence.

8:18 PM
^

The spam battle begins
SPAM!

@Rainbolt what really can you expect from a man with a full stop after his name.

@Rainbolt The first two were related. A comma isn't ungrammatical. I could have used a semicolon instead.

@TanMath you can do from fraction import* right?

8:19 PM
@ev3commander Yes

i mean, from fractions import*

@AlexA. I'm pretty sure that's not grammatical. You need a conjunction in there. A semicolon would work too.

> You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

(I'm picking on you because your patience is thin :P)

8:20 PM
Also range(m)

@ev3commander no, because the Fraction-> F saves bytes

@Rainbolt I could ask on English.SE but I super don't care.
@Rainbolt ಠ_ಠ

@Sherlock9 oh yeah! that is so true! I am dumb

Does from math import* help at all?

8:22 PM
I think you can remove the space after return in the last line.

@ev3commander no @TanMath is importing the Fraction class's __init__ as F

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

* is very helpful.

i dont know python

Fair enough, @ev3commander

8:24 PM
I only ever use js and snap and sometimes scratch
oh yeah
and java
:D

saves no characters

Is there a way to assign an __init__ to a variable? I could save bytes if I could get that to work

ಠ ͜ ಠ (I made Alex happy.)
4

wait, why don't I make t a global variable?

8:26 PM
Took me five minutes to find that unicode character

which one
U+202e?

Don't think that saves bytes. But go ahead, try it
And remember to test it

@Sherlock9 it will! because the indentation is gone

@ev3commander U+203F

8:27 PM
@Sherlock9 __init__ is a function (and object) like any other, so yes, you can assign it to a variable.

ಠ‿ಠ Is disapproved.

Wait I lied

weird, doesn't work, oh well

Dang he got it first

i gtg...bye!

8:28 PM
ಠ_ಠ

ಠ ಠ <- Creepy Alex

@TanMath Bye!

@FlagAsSpam you angry at me?

What?

you want me to stay?

8:29 PM
@FlagAsSpam That looks like a pained smile.

No.
That was directed at Rainbolt. :P

oh! good

@Rainbolt ೦‿೦

@El'endiaStarman xD

Q: Interpret StackyMath!

J AtkinTime for you to implement my new stack based language! It's called StackyMath. This will be a stack based language with 8 operations on the stack and ways to add numbers to the stack. List of operations: /: Division. Performed on the top 2 numbers of the stack. Pushes the result back on the st...

8:29 PM
@AlexA. weird eyes

@AlexA. Holy hell in a hand basket.

@AlexA. And that is a soulless smile.

@El'endiaStarman Thanks! Will implement that in the morning

ರ___ರ

I....I dunno.

8:31 PM
You need to stay happy

I'm dead inside

That's okay, long as you're smiling

ರ‿ರ

Ah wait. I only use Fraction.__init__() once in my code. Won't help. Darn

Darn

8:32 PM
ಠಿ___ಠಿ

@Sherlock9 [✓] possible [ ] useful

Though I could use from math import*
Ah I should sleep on this. Goodnight all
And thanks again @El'endiaStarman

Welcome. :)

yay more unicode
ಠ◡ಠ

Alex I golfed your face into a single character: ⚍

8:38 PM
xD

This is you hanging upside-down from a trapeze: ⚎

@Rainbolt That's some impressive golfing!

jqueryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

@NathanMerrill How people upload bots is actually up to the contest host (read: I haven't directly implemented it, but there are some ways for you to implement it). Two ideas that come to mind: The controller uses the SE API to get the most recent answers from the thread and include those in the run, or the challenge host updates their github with new entries.

OMG, Dennis beat me!!!!!

8:45 PM
@PhiNotPi The latter is what Katya did for the language agnostic sword fighting KOTH.

does the server automatically get the latest from github?

but i kinda didn't like how he also golfed the reference implementation...my answer was already there!

@NathanMerrill You can specify exactly what commands are run in order to run the KOTH. Some of those commands can be the ones to get the latest from GitHub.

@TanMath His golfing work was his own.

8:48 PM
so its really a server that allows you to write anything to command line for two different buttons
nothing more
@PhiNotPi

@ev3commander jqueryyy y y y ... y why why? WHY?? WHYYY???!??!?!?!?

lol, yeah

cause d3 is weird

@AlexA. i guess.. I have no chance now
even no chance of getting upvotes

well, it's slightly more complicated than that, creating a daemon and such, but basically yeah :) :/ :(

8:50 PM
well I did get some rep, but oh well

@PhiNotPi right, but from my point of view, I just write two console lines

thisis pretty cool:\

^ This is chill.

Chill?

@VoteToClose
whoops i meant @FlagAsSpam
what does chill mean

8:52 PM
Cool. Mildly cold.

That is a very wild assumption

@NathanMerrill Yeah. Of course, if there's some feature you want to add, I can probably add it. I simply stopped development once I got something to work, thinking "if somebody actually wants to run a KOTH, I can fix it."

@Optimizer It's xkcd. What do you expect?

Flat-earth confirmed.

Also i thought alaska was CLOSE to russia
same with greenland/norway

8:55 PM
It is close, there's just a ton of distortion.

i lied
greenland is not close to norway

@grc Hello

@SuperJedi224 Hello

@ev3commander Compared to Alpha Centauri, though, they're practically overlapping
