It is hard for me to drink like... slowly. Or in moderation. So I tend not to drink at all. Also I'm not supposed to drink on the meds I'm on anyway.

And only because it's cheaper than water.

It is freaking literally cheaper to buy beer than water in restaurants here. There is no such thing as free water or free refills here.

I have a tendency to drink a lot of <whatever liquid> while eating, so sometimes I'd drink like, a bunch of water before going out to dinner here so I wouldn't inflate the bill when we actually went out to eat.

@Fluttershy They just don't do free refills. That's not really a European thing.

Drinks are what they make money off of. When you go out to dinner here, you go out for like... a 3 hour meal.

It's not like eating in North America at all, where it's all speedy and convenience.

HOWEVER, it is catching on a little here.

There is a wok restaurant on the corner of my street that has free refills on beer.
