Morning all. We've signed up to learn to dive :) should qualify by May

Morning... Cool thing @Aravona Where do you learn it?
@imsodin Congratz to your "Why is it prohibited to sleep in a tent" answer =)

8:37 AM
@requiem There may be some about on higher peaks. But most of the snow will be in Scotland. The further south the less snow, Pen-y-fan,etc should be totally clear by then. Expect it to be wet!

@OddDev my local dive center. Doing an SSI open water, basically the same as PADI open water but the advanced open water takes longer (PADI is 9 dives total, SSI is 25)
Also planted 10 trees at the forest event :) very pleased.

@Aravona I want to do something like this.. I need to find some time to look

@Liam yeah to be honest, the studying aside, it takes like 4 days

@Aravona Planting trees?!

12:01 PM
@Liam yup! We went to this event near Bedford helping a charity plant a new forest basically.
Oh! You meant plantig trees for time LOL
The app is really bad at linking up chat replies...
Ok 4 days to learn to dive... 4 hours or so total to plant some trees (and do some nice walks!)
We only found out about the tree planting because it was also a geocaching event.

Hey @RoryAlsop
this user seems to be entirely designed to redirect traffic to some cigar lighter site

@Liam thanks for that
I'll keep an eye out.

2:06 PM
@OddDev interesting question, what model year is your Lada?

2:22 PM
It's a completely fresh 2015
Taiga
They've renamed the Niwa to Taiga, so it's basically a Niwa
I think that was back in 2013

@OddDev yeah as I said in the comments the Russian brand isn't sold here commonly anymore. The majority of our 4x4s like that have become more Soccor Mom SUVs. With the end of production of the iconic Land Rover Defender earlier this month... The choice is, well you still have range rovers and land rovers... But I'd actually quite like a Citroen Cactus or a Nissan Quasquai
But the BMW and Mercedes SUVs... Blurgh. I'm not a fan

@Aravona Both of those are 2 wheel drive, FYI!

Also the car you drive up a mountain isn't an issue lol of that's what you thought I meant. Just driving up a mountain in general isn't very leave no trace... It's more Top Gear
@Liam 2 or 4 actually for the Quasqai. Front wheel drive only for the Cactus but its BASE SECTOR is still classed under SUV.
I never said the Cactus was a 4x4, just that I actually quite like them.
I work for the biggest car data company in the UK, so I'd know what's classed as what lol... Well I do for 2 more weeks.

@Aravona I thought they were just 2 wheel. Fair enough, I'm not sure I'd fancy one off road anyway!
they're supposed ot be releasing a new 4x4 to replace the defender

2:39 PM
@Liam yes I think in 2020 which is stupid.
I actually really love the defender so I'm pretty pissed at Land Rover. Though the dealership near me still has some model years in stock...

Mitsubishi Pajero would be my choice
But I don't want to spend too much money on a vehicle I use one in a while =)
*once

@OddDev actually you'd probably do better eith the PHEV now. Because of the reduced running costs overall
Plus the PHEVs get a grant in the UK, of up to £4500 off the cost of the car
And you can drive them around London without paying congestion

Oh okay
Pajero is called "Shogun" in the UK btw

@OddDev yeah I know lol
It comes LWB or SWB and also in the light commercial category. But the outlander PHEV has a damn impressive range of 1544 miles, at 156mpg on a 45 litre tank
Quite confusing between range extenders, PHEVs, and EVs
The hyundai ix35 might start pulling people away from the traditional electric though :)
So might the Mirai by Toyota.
Electric is much better for the environment but the range limitations make less people inclined to have one, so does the charge time. With the Hydrogen fuel cell cars it's a decent range, cheaper fuel cost and 5 minutes at a pump.

3:14 PM
Omg... i'm dying right now xD

Does the Kraken have a name?

The Kraken is more than just a name. The Kraken is a concept, a feeling. The Kraken transcends stereotypes and labels. The Kraken will never say “it looks like you’re trying to write a letter.” The Kraken will never judge your code.

It seems like a tag related to keeping things dry would be useful. I am not sure is the best fit.

@StrongBad ?
@StrongBad Edited question and added. Also got rid of moisture. Your right, it's silly

@Liam I think or might be mote inclusive.

@OddDev I just think of this:

@StrongBad sounds like a plan to me

@OddDev Toyota HiLux is proven to survive newsforchange.com/entertainment/killing-a-toyota-hilux

4:05 PM
@RoryAlsop yet to try Kraken rum, I'm strictly on Green Island at the moment, is it good?

4:20 PM
@Aravona it's very nice. But then I am a fan of most drinks :-)
It has a distinctive taste
kinda why I like Gilt and Caorunn gins so much

5:06 PM
@RoryAlsop ooh?

5:38 PM
You must try them @Aravona - two of my favourite Scottish gins. Gilt is a single malt gin and is delicious!

3 hours later…
8:22 PM
@RoryAlsop if I can find them I will do

1 hour later…
9:25 PM
Seems like and would be helpful.

2 hours later…
11:45 PM
I was thinking "staying-dry", but "moisture" is actually pretty good for sleeping bags and condensation.
