What type of diversity do you mean, @Ooker?

Yeah, that's also a question. What type of diversity do we need?

Looking at the mod team, I see that most mods (if not all?) have background in neuroscience, not psychology. Amongst 6 candidates, 4 of them are from neuroscience, and all 4 win the vote. The other two doesn't have much votes. I wonder if we can have some analysis from there? @StevenJeuris

I don't have a background in neuroscience. :) But neither in psychology.

I think the main reason the 5th candidate (who still got quite a bit of votes) didn't make the cut was because they have little to no experience with this community.

And the 6th candidate (Chris) their nomination was withdrawn.

Site diversity @Ooker, is created by the community as a whole, not just the ♦️ moderators. You don't need a background in the sciences to be able to moderate here. You just need to know what the community rules and guidelines are for the site.

The only difference between the ♦️ moderators and the rest of the community is that they are elected to step in to deal with exceptional circumstances which the rest of the community cannot deal with in a normal way. stackoverflow.blog/2009/05/18/a-theory-of-moderation

Spot on @ChrisRogers! In fact, @ChrisRogers does a fair bit of moderation on the site and has a background in psychology.

Thanks everyone. That's just an example. I still wonder are there any other types of diversity that we should consider? (just a food for thought. I don't have the answer)
