If I have an arbitrary function f[x_Integer] that returns a number (in this case doing some geographic stuff with areas - NOT an algebraic thing I could mathematically simplify), what function do I use to automatically bisect to find the minimum number efficiently? I end up just doing it manually because I don't really understand how NMinimize etc work.

@CarlLange Can you just do NMinimize[f[x], x\[Element]Integers]?
