Say, what's the one question that shows you how to make a box with a pattern viewed from the inside different from the outside? I used to trip over it almost every day, now I could use it well and can't find it. Halp!

Does anyone have a nice method to subdivide a geo bounding box into a grid of eg 100m*100m?

@CarlLange to make multiple GeoBoundingBoxs or have gridlines?
Use FaceForm, to answer myself, hah!

@CATrevillian Multiple GeoBoundingBoxes or Rectangles or something.
Ah, fair enough, a little bit of screwing about with GeoDestination and it's OK

I think that this question is too broad.

@andre314 Maybe, but it provides a platform for @Szabolcs's great answer, so I'd say keep it!

@Chrik K Keeping the question is fine, but in the Hold state, because it's a great platform for pontification.

It did attract too much attention ... which is not always good

Does anyone remember a post on how to localise symbols in a expression when passed into a function?

@andre314 I agree but nevertheless this question hits an important point: The view on Mathematica from the outside. It's funny because in my institute everyone uses Matlab. Even funnier, I got the exact same statement that "Mathematica is for symbolics but for number crunching you need Matlab".
I would loved to also provide an answer for this question, because what people don't realize is that many of Matlab's core functionality uses the same core as Mathematica's: Fast libraries like the Intel MKL.
It's possible that Matlab's language is closer to the metal, but when processing matrices or volumes with 10^9 elements you rely on what's beneath.

@halirutan true, but getting your data into a form that the underlying libraries can use is often far easier in MATLAB. And I'm saying that as someone who would much, much prefer to do everything in MMA.

@kirkus Is it? I've seen horrible for-loops in Matlab with explicit iteration variable just to do something to a cell-array.
