@CATrevillian I didn't see any difference using ImageResolution, I wonder if that only makes a difference if the output gets rasterized? I didn't set the ImageSize during graphing, seeing if deferring it to the Export step would work, then you only need one plot.

@kirkus you might be right in the comparison of file sizes being down to the amount of sampling/number of points. I wonder, then, what the difference would be between Plot and setting the # of points, versus a ListLinePlot?

Any SystemModel fans here?

Is Modelica.Fluid included?

SystemModels["Modelica.Fluid.*"]
returns {}

Another question:
asso = <|"test" -> 1|>;
MatchQ[
 <|"id" -> "test"|>,
 KeyValuePattern[{"id" -> ID_}] /; KeyExistsQ[asso, ID]
 ]
returns False.

Just a quick question. I have a matrix of reals which is not a packed array. When I transpose it I get a new matrix which is packed. Transpose[] packs arrays?

2:13 PM
@Kiro - I don't think it packs arrays in general:
In[88]:= array = Developer`FromPackedArray@RandomReal[5, {5, 5}];
Developer`PackedArrayQ@array

Out[89]= False

In[90]:= array2 = Transpose@array;

In[91]:= Developer`PackedArrayQ@array2

Out[91]= False

@JasonB. Must be something special in my matrices then it seems. Well, having packed arrays can only help so I don't mind.

right - I was thinking the only reason to be annoyed if it did automatically pack them is the extra time it might take to do so

@CATrevillian I would expect them to be similar (the same?), I just used Plot so I could make the PlotPoints explicit.

3:41 PM
@kirkus ah ok, that would be good, then! But you don’t think it would “smartly” plot the points, rather than taking a defined interval?

4:14 PM
@Kuba I only see @gwr asking questions about it & I'm not sure he shows up in chat

4:51 PM
@halirutan - I think I've asked you this before, but can't search the chat here right now. Here it says that on a PC the key to expand scope in a selection is Ctrl-W. How do you do that on a mac? Cmd-W closes the current window

5:33 PM
@JasonB. On the same page you linked, I have given the link to the PDF with the shortcuts.
Scroll down to Mac, 2nd column..

@kirkus, that solves the resolution/dpi/sizing/filesize-ballooning issue precisely. I am still confused why I cannot dictate the display size of the graphic, also, when I export it, or rather how I might...I'm sure we all realize that the WL is not for graphic design, but it isn't not for graphic design, either! I know it would be down to a matter of setting the dpi on my adobe, though, which...I'll just not pay for that and be fine here, I think!
If you feel up to it, put that answer on the question in question, and I can accept it if no one can figure out how to dictate the actual outputted display resolution!

@halirutan Thank you! I should read the top before just scanning for the thing I'm looking for

@JasonB. In this very special situation, it is really important to read the beginning :)

@Kuba what you post for the asso question, is not that syntax for KeyValuePattern equivalent to:
KeyValuePattern[{"id" -> _}]
?

6:16 PM
@CATrevillian I think with a PDF that only raster images have a specific DPI/resolution. Text and vectors should be resolution-independent, so I think you just need to set the image size you want.

6:30 PM
@ChrisK yes, I already contacted him, thanks ;)
@CATrevillian not sure what do you mean, did I make a typo somewhere? About ID, I need it because I want to use it in Condition.

1 hour later…
7:36 PM
@Kuba - for your example you could bind the Condition to the blank rather than the KeyValuePattern: MatchQ[<|"id" -> "test"|>,
KeyValuePattern[{"id" -> ID_ /; KeyExistsQ[asso, ID]}]]
Maybe your actual use case is more complex, but I usually try to bind the Condition as tightly as possible
