@RM Physicists are often sloppy and what they mean by connected is weakly connected. My impression was that this is what the OP meant.

@Szabolcs My problem is that I know next to nothing about graph theory and terminology :) My naive assumption is that a sink is a vertex that has only incoming edges (VertexOutDegree of 0) and vice versa for sources.

@RM re your comment on needing high-rep users to clean up, I agree. recently there has been an increased need for closing/deleting, so maybe it would be more of a problem to keep things working well if some people lost privileges

(although apparently some of the offenders are self-moderating!)

@acl I don't really think so... we have 30+ people who can close (in a graduated site) and 4 non-mods who can delete (with more who'll get there in a month or so). Even if stuff doesn't get removed instantly, closure + downvotes is sufficient and the mods can remove posts

As long as there's closing + voting + editing going on, we needn't worry about deletion.

@RM I don't remember what is the threshold for voting to close?

Since we're on the topic, publicizing this link is probably useful for those who aren't aware: Posts that are on their way to deletion (votes in the last 30 days) can be found here in the /tools section. Please visit that at least once a week to see what you're willing to vote to remove.

I always keep hitting "You've already voted to delete this" (I wish it indicated differently if I've already voted)

Another place to look for is by searching for closed questions and sifting through the non-duplicates (or useless dupes)... This is admittedly a bit more cumbersome since there isn't a good way to weed out the duplicates from other closed questions. Hopefully there might be some changes soon

Let us not be over zealous in deleting Closed questions; they serve as useful stubs for searches in many cases, and help to reduce new duplicate questions.

You mean questions closed as "not-constructive", "too localized" or "not a real question" too? They can't be both useful and closed at the same time... (I'm not advocating deleting dupes)

@MrWizard I think most actually deleted questions really are not useful to keep on the site

You can force evaluation with === or TrueQ[y==10]

R.M somehow it does. You can replace the Print with a p=23 and p gets the value, you can put a Pause, etc

and "which side of the if" gets evaluated depends on the outside value of y

Not if the evaluation of the condition is forced... but I agree that without it, If does get evaluated somehow (outside of the DM, maybe?)

@RM Other than a couple of big spikes, one up to about 4000, we're holding level at about 1300 visits per day since mid April.
