I've noticed a small problem with the graphic produced with`Plot` and the `PlotLegends` option: if you try to select the output graphic (mouse click) it won't include the legends ! It means you can't manually export the plot ("Save graphics as") because you'll loose these legends ... Strangely, the doc example (`Plot[{Sin[x], Sin[2 x], Sin[3 x]}, {x, 0, 2 Pi},
PlotLegends -> "Expressions"]`) is OK, which probably means it was created in a previous version and something is broken since then. (I see the problem with MMA v11.0.1 and 10.3.1). It is not a big problem however, so is this worth a…

@SquareOne I think the graphics in the docs are rasterized before bundled off with Mathematica. Try dragging the resize box to see. Also try re-executing the code in the doc page to get the unrasterized output.

@MichaelE2 Yes, this seems to be the case. Showing the expression of the output indicates that RasterBox is used for the docs graphics.

In 11.0.1, if I copy-paste a graphics from the docs (e.g., the first plot in Plot refpage) to a notebook, then right-click and "save image as" the copy, this crashes Mathematica.

No crash with PNG, M11.0.1, OS X.

@Szabolcs Ah yes, PNG is working fine for me as well, other formats also. This crashes with PDF only. If I save as PDF the graphics from the ref page directly, it just does nothing it seems (I don't get any file).

@Mr.Wizard and @moderators I created the testing-and-verification tag and some tag info for it, but I can't create the synonyms.

Currently there is the unit-tests tag with munit as a synonym. There are also the tags testing-framework, verificationtest, and testreport, which don't have a usage guidance or tag wiki. In my opinion there should only be one tag that covers the topics of the Wolfram Language Guide Systematic ...

@R.M. Thanks for the insight. I read about the different version and how it is handled in Ubuntu. I already had 3.5 installed but it seems switching the default python is not a good idea. So I can use 3.5 for my (non-existing) own stuff and leave 2.7 installed for programs that need it.

@MichaelE2 You are right, all the plots in the docs seem to be rasterized ... Actually there are images and what is interesting here is that Plot[..., PlotLegends->...]//Image produces an error (no problem of course if the option is missing) but Plot[..., PlotLegends->...]//Rasterize//Image is working OK. So the docs won't tell if "PlotLegends" was ever "working", the problem has to be tested directly for each mma version. I'll post that later.

@halirutan The best way to use python on any system is using virtual environments. Leave the system python untouched and then just create a virtual env for each project and install the dependencies in there.

@R.M. Yes, I read about them but did not understand it in detail. But if you say that's a good way, I will definitely look into it.

For the kind of work that you do, I would highly highly recommend the Anaconda python distribution. With the same distribution, you can easily create python 2.7 or python 3+ virtual environments for different projects without having to worry about modifying system stuff.

@yode I consider that a bug is fixed when the wrong behavior of the code described in the question does not happen anymore, and when the expected behavior (usually explicit in the question) is obtained or recovered. For instance in one of your question, after reading comments and answers, it seemed to me that the new behavior in 11.0.1 fixed the issue.

@yode When a bug happens on some platforms but not others, I may not edit the bug banner even if the bug seems to be fixed on my Windows. A recent example was this question, where I marked the bug fixed. After that, other users mentioned in comments that they were still experiencing the issue, so I rolled back to the previous banner.

@yode No, I am not Chinese :) Based on my understanding of your question from Google translation, I do not know which bugs are fixed. I have to go through the bug-tagged questions and test each of them. And to get the list of the fixes in 11.0.1 (I think you're asking that as well), you could search on MSE: "[bugs] fixed in 11.0.1" (without the quotes).
