@gnat This thing with the dupes-that-aren't-dupes needs to stop. We don't pick close reasons based on what will create less drama. Wrong dupes will - in the long run - hurt the site a lot more than an OP that got his feelings hurt because we told them they are off topic.

@YannisRizos 100% agree, it's the wrong priority in choosing a close reason and it creates chains that confuse users who actually stumble across the content because they're interested in the answer

@MichaelT Actually some of us do. Trudging through shit shops until finally finding a decent place is par for the course for decent engineers..
Maybe not all or most, but definitely plenty of us have done that.

Aha! I know what's wrong, careful reading tells me that you're algorithm is suffering from a rare but difficult problem; it's been water damaged. You'll have to treat it for mold and do a proper mathematical remediation to correct, next time you should check the soil grade towards your algorithm before prolonged water calculations. — Jimmy Hoffa 2 mins ago
