Hello - I am learning about various causes that lead to software failures. So far, two prominent causes of failures seem to be managerial and technical. An example of the resources I have looked at is this file. But I am looking for a tutorial which discusses things in detail.

Could you please suggest a good tutorial which enumerates aspects of managerial and technical perspectives to failures so that I could learn more about this topic? Thanks in advance

@MelanieA I'm not sure I understand your manager/technical distinction. Could you give some examples? And are you more interested in development project failures, or bugs/faults in software systems? For the latter, the QA community has lots of material

@amon When a software fails, perhaps the technical team did not test the system properly. Or perhaps the management did not consider limitations of time and forced developers into something. This is just an example from my side, but I am looking for a tutorial which enumerates (most common) reasons for failures, both on managerial or technical sides

StackOverflow is for when you get stuck while coding something, and need to ask a question about programming itself, specifically. So therefore you basically always need to have a minimal reproducible example of the problem so that others can help fix it. This seems like a really general question though, and is more about program design than actual implementation details. Therefore I think softwareengineering.stackexchange.com would probably be a better fit. — Random Davis 8 secs ago

@MelanieA A starting point might be the ISTQB foundation level syllabus (PDF). It makes a strong distinction between human errors and technical defects. Section 1.2.3 lists some causes for errors.
But human errors can be made by anyone involved in the software development process. I don't think it makes a lot of sense to introduce a distinction between developers and managers. In a software context, nearly all defects are caused by human mistakes because there is no physical component that could erode over time (as opposed to classical engineering).
