not sure if your question belongs here, might be better on software engineering — a_local_nobody 16 secs ago

I have a design pattern/implementation question. I want to determine what is the best way to implement code for lets say I have multiple storage filetypes such as excel, csv, db but want a single abstraction that easily keeps the specifics of the file type hidden from my application and my application only interact with the data. Would this be more a facade pattern, factory pattern, mix of both? Which exchange to ask such a question?
Any external resources/blog posts that already goes over such a problem? Help is much appreciated. Thank you!
