I have been asked to write a program to convert a binary tree into a circular linked list (order of the nodes in list are in inorder traversal of the tree)

May I know any real time applications of such a program? Is it used as a function for implementing something bigger?

converting a heap structure to a queue after you are sure no additions will happen that insert in the middle
that way polling from the queue is O(1) instead of O(log n) at the cost of a single O(n) operation
so it should amortize out to be ahead
or when sorting a doubly linked list, first convert to the binary tree and then convert back inorder
though for that I prefer doing merge sort

Journalists have an uneasy relationship with technology. On one hand, journalism at the highest levels still focuses on print distribution, a technology hundreds of years old. On the other hand, even the Gray Lady has a snazzy mobile app and  stories custom made for virtual reality. Traditional news outlets are increasingly discovering the power of interactive journalism. To do that right, you need a team of people working on a story—a journalist, a data scientist, a programmer, and a UX designer. It’s rare that you get all four skills in a single person. …
