I think you can use the API that the user exposes if you test that User API elsewhere using the lower-level tools. I think this question would be better for softwareengineering.stackexchange.com though since it's more conceptual and language-agnostic. — max pleaner 47 secs ago

Um, no. What topics can I ask about here? lists "a specific programming problem, or a software algorithm, or software tools commonly used by programmers." General computer questions are not on topic for StackOverflow. This sounds like a question for cs.stackexchange.com — Raymond Chen 18 secs ago

I am really disappointed by the title of this Q that reached the network's hot list: softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/357745/…
I'd like to suggest an edit to 'How common is procedural, imperative code in web applications?' but it seems that I might be anticipating the answer in the title. What do you suggest?

@dcorking I like the title. It properly reflects the author's sentiment -- and the reality, I might add.

@PeterA.Schneider which title do you like? The original or my suggestion?

9:57 AM
@PeterA.Schneider or the edit by @congusbongus which I like better than my suggestion : Are bad programming practices typical within the software industry? If so, I think we are done.

10:32 AM
@dcorking Oh. I was neither aware of the original title nor that you were refering to it ;-). Yes, I like the current title from congus.

Design related questions are probably better suited for Software Engineering or similar. — Ron 23 secs ago

I'm writing a Powershell script to deploy files to an FTP server. I need to remove any existing files and subdirectories in the directory before i upload the new files.

The FTP protocol, however, does not allow the deletion of non-empty directories, so in order to accomplish this i would need to recursively query for files and directories and then delete them, starting with files in the deepest directory first.

Is there any built-in functionality or libraries i can use to delete a non-empty directory on a FTP server? I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
