I did, and they deleted my post as being off topic — ACE 7 mins ago
^^^ lovely. Close at SO as a reason to post at Programmers

and it looks like we're on the verge of migrating his cross-post back there...

@enderland It is. I'm not in the most diplomatic of moods today.
Man, some of these recruiters are hard to understand.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it belongs on programmers.stackexchange.comTanktalus 50 secs ago

Anyone here want a Careers invitation?

@RobertHarvey the funny thing is their advertisement says "Want to work with assholes? Neither do we" and then they complained about your communication style

isn't that job in texas and isn't RobertHarvey in California?

psr
@JimmyHoffa Note that they never claim not to be assholes.

@whatsisname isn't it still worthwhile poking stupid companies in the eye when you have no interest in them and they're clearly looking to bend a fellow developer over a barrel?

lol

It would be interesting if they had up/down voting on careers. The end result might be teaching bad companies to lie better. In this case a marketing company is not marketing themselves very well for their target audience. I think.

it'd be kind of hard to implement that reasonably
what if that place turned out to actually be awesome

@whatsisname I have family in Austin.
@psr Apparently they think we're all just a bunch of curmudgeons. Oh, wait.
@whatsisname It's possible. But I suspect that "asshole" to them means "someone who actually speaks their mind."
That doesn't seem like a good formula for an effective corporate culture.

@RobertHarvey nah, it's just a marketing tag-line, it means "Hey we're good, look aren't we good? Come to the dark our side, we have cookies!"

So "working with assholes" is not something they've actually done, then?
Lucky them.

am I the only one that can't understand just what is going on here programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/284486/…

Oh, GOD. What is it with these people and their foo bar examples?
@whatsisname @gnat is right. It's a Karnaugh table.

@whatsisname speak for yourself! I'm reading his mind just fine, but mostly all he's doing is thinking about bacon. It's really not helpful, and it's making me hungry. — Jimmy Hoffa 13 secs ago

it maybe is, it's hard to be sure though amongst all that gibberish

@RobertHarvey That programming department must be very empty.

@whatsisname classic example of poorly constructed question because poster doesn't understand his own question

user55340
No wonder they are hiring.

11:16 PM
maybe I should leave, it's like a million degrees in here

- just three questions. We can clean that up quickly.

@durron597 Until Stack Exchange weighs in, please do not flag these posts. Use Meta. It's really annoying to sit down to browse Programmers and see an absurd number of flags on things that don't need immediate attention.
