Personally, I wouldn't have any problems with "Does the law of cosines contradict Pythagoras's theorem?" left undeleted on the site. I can imagine people being stumbled upon this. (The question has been mentioned both here and elsewhere.)

The incorrect answer Bill pointed out has a nice idea, so I sort of understand why it is popular. I even posted a fix to it. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that the simplest argument only occurred to me when editing a kludgier fix. Comes with the age, I think :-). Bill's fix is, of course, good also (and it cannot hurt to remind the readers about Vieta relations).

@MartinSleziak Jyrki has mentioned many times the point of REPOSITORY OF KNOWLEDGE, to justify his votes of closing/deletion. However, it is not so clear what exactly "REPOSITORY OF KNOWLEDGE" he is referring to. @JyrkiLahtonen
