@amWhy I initially did not link it but someone asked me to as I gave it as an example regsrding the ongoing. Note if that you had been paying attention in here the last few days then you would know that this chat has been discussing closures. There is currently (from what I understand) a significant debate right now as on how to handle the no context close reason. There are quite a few (including me) who say it should either be replaced or changed to something else.

I am thinking we should have something different than the word context as to me it sounds vague. I am curious what your opinion is.

@amWhy yeah you are correct. I suppose I was mostly of those not-so-often meta questions asking more about why math is the way it is rather than a specific problem statement. Questions where context is more or less inherent like the one I linked. Personally though I think we need a "lack of rigor" close reason for posts that have context and are verbally understandable, but lack enough rigor to actually answer the question.

@amWhy honestly, that actually fits on my computer screen. You have to understand... Im also a computer science. I type quite literally miles a minute. Im sorry if that bothers you or anyone else.

It was about a month ago on whether divergent limits can all be written as linear combinations or something. It has been deleted since then and Id prefer to edit rather than write it anew.

@TheGreatDuck That's no easy task, to track down questions from a month ago and that have been deleted. I can typically see only deleted posts I have links to, e.g., if I had commented, favorited, even voted on a deleted question, I can usually track it down. I'm in the review queue right now; if I don't get to it tonight, I'll try tomorrow morning (like 12 hours from now!).

oh theres no way to view deleted ones a particular user wrote? If not dont worry about it. A mod can probably look it up in a list.

I thought for you guys, the deleted posts just stay in a users list, marked as [deleted].

10k+ users can see all their deleted posts. Users with lower reputation have easy access at least to deleted posts that were created in the last 60 days.

Data explorer contains some data about deleted questions, but not data to identify the OP: Can some metadata about deleted posts be included in Data.SE?

You could probably get this form past data dumps, but I do not know exactly how this is done (and it would certainly be a lot of effort). AFAIK something like this was not created for Math.SE: Unofficial Stack Overflow deleted question archive now available

@TheGreatDuck What you wrote here is true - if a user is 10k+ then he sees deleted question if it is in some of the lists (for example such as favorites, votes, etc.

So if by user lists you meant the questions/answers listed on the user profile, deleted posts are not shown there.

Since the topics was deleted questions, I thought mentioned when can they be found and where they are displayed might be useful (maybe for other users of this chatroom, since you say you're not really interested in this).

@MartinSleziak no. the linked posts describing all those lists and things sounds like a really over complicated way to accomplish "lets just make deleted posts hidden for low rep users".

heck, it is just a minor change in the sql query into their database. Sewms like it would less of a hassle for everyone. And if people dont like that, then put a convenient tickbox on your profile settings to hide deleted questions.

@TheGreatDuck Hard deletion is a completely different topic. AFAIK it is done only in exceptional cases and it is done only manually.

I don't think that editing deleted questions is against the rules. (In fact, if somebody wants a post to be undeleted and reopened, trying to improve it via edits is a reasonable thing to do.)

Are in in England now? Well, in Wisconsin, the past week has been rainy, cold, but above freezing, had a thunderstorm all day yesterday, temp dropped 20 degrees, and the rain turned to snow (3 inches). (I'm in the southern portion of WI; my sister, is central and west of me in WI. They got 12 inches of snow yesterday!)
