@Did @amWhy @SimplyBeautifulArt @ZacharySelk @XanderHenderson @JohnMa: This PSQ should be closed and this PSQ is open for deletion. Also here and here.

@LeakyNun The owner must have realized it's a stupid question and chose to delete it. Since it does not appear to be an attempt to circumvent site rules or norms, I would just respect the asker's wish.
@LeakyNun: Anyway are you going to help clearing up the junk listed here?

what, are you purging old questions lol

@LeakyNun I don't look at the time-stamp most of the time. I just look at the content. Since the very beginning of Math SE, the downvote button has already included "does not show research effort", so I see no issue with clearing up lousy questions that I encounter. In the last few cases, those users were mentioned by others here, and are still producing PSQs regularly.
@Did @amWhy @ZacharySelk: This post is Not-An-Answer, but I think CRUDE is a better avenue than flagging for dealing with such. Actually I don't understand why Will posted it. Looks a bit like a joke?

This room is now six years old. I'd guess it was more active during the last year than ever before.

@user21820 gone, and gone, and gone and gone and gone! =)
@user21820 All are now gone, except for the first question, with only one close vote: mine :(
@MartinSleziak Aww... I miss t.b. :(
@MartinSleziak Thanks for the post! It would be interesting to have a table (or a bar graph) of the current, say, 10 most popular (most visited?) chat rooms, over any span of time, say, each year, along with the "age" of the chat room!

@amWhy I didn't realize I could vote. I thought I couldn't vote again so quickly.

1:44 PM
@user21820 anyway, you got a lot accomplished (along with those who recognized the need to close or delete, after you linked them)!! =D
@LeakyNun Why do you think it should be reopened? Maybe the asker intends to edit the question to include more work? In any case, it's a bare problem statement with no answers, that the asker chose to delete. I respect that.

I voted to close as a duplicate math.stackexchange.com/questions/2600903/solve-pxp2x2-p2x3x . However, the OP asks if his solution is correct, but I cannot make sense out of it, hence my vote. What do you think?

@clark Unfortunately, I can't really make sense out of your comment on the question either. Where did 2k+1 come from?

@clark I think your vote to close as a duplicate is justified, because one of two questions the op asks is if there are any more "elegant" proofs/solutions (and linking to a duplicate providing correct solutions is totally reasonable). I would understand, also, if a user chose to vote to close as "unclear what you're asking." Often posts are closed by a total of five close votes, and not all the close votes are for the same reason. I wouldn't second guess yourself.

@user21820 oh, I made a typo I wanted to say $3k+1=k+1$

@clark Ah.

2:48 PM
@amWhy The lower half is actually an attempt to answer the upper half.

@amWhy I don't think that this question is a great question (I'm not a big fan of "here's my homework!" style questions), but the poster did attempt to solve the problem on their own (that is the bit below the divider)
none of the canned close responses really work for me...

:42219251, @XanderHenderson Well, it was lost on me. I do think it is a poor quality. But I think I'll remove my comment from this chat, given your feedback.

@amWhy You accidentally linked the dupe target instead of the recently undeleted post. I think you can't edit your message any more. Would you like me to change the link?

@DanielFischer Oh no!
2 messages moved to trash

Okay, that works too ;)

@Did, @user21820, @ZacharySelk, @SimplyBeautifulArt This is open for deletion; needs two more delete votes: math.stackexchange.com/questions/2594578/…
@DanielFischer Thanks for letting me know!

You're welcome.
