@Peter Interestingly, it did not get on the HNQ but rather went viral for a brief time on Twitter and possibly other media.

@NikhilKumarSingh Is this procedure even valid ? As far as I know, we cannot apply power rules for complex numbers.

@Peter I think that it is a non-answer.

If it actually is correct, it is a good answer since we just have to set $w=\pi$ in the given expression to get a real number as desired. But I am not sure whether the "s" actually vanishes as demonstrated.

@Saad This user appeared before as well today (ref rschweib's comment), and the questions they are posting remind me vaguely of a graduate admission exam, though it could very well be from an old exam. I don't think of flagging, but we should watch this.

I think I've erred here, but this question actually looks okay to me. So the source is "instructor gave us this problem" and the background is "we haven't learnt non-linear recurrences in class". I've mistakenly voted to delete, I think this could stay maybe.

@Peter Ok, but if it does happen then I'd like discussion on this, so I'll put it in the reopen thread. I value the answer, because I don't think I've seen a log transformation on recurrences that often.

@Peter Undeleting it to close and delete it seems counterintuitive. The question is a bare bones PSQ, and should not have been answered in the first place.

@amWhy makes sense. Additionally, it had not received upvotes at the time of the deletion.

@Peter I can see both arguments: a user should not delete a post immediately after getting a post; a PSQ should be closed, not answered, and ultimately deleted.
