[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad keyword in answer, pattern-matching website in answer, potentially bad ns for domain in answer, potentially bad keyword in answer (167): Poisson Process Conditional Proability by josephranstetter on math.SE

This bad answer (see my reasons here) still needs one more delete-vote. Thanks! @RRL @JyrkiLahtonen @Semiclassical

@BillDubuque I'm finding it very hard to guess what "help" you would seek in this room for that solution. Can you explain?

There is a room Constructive feedback and there used to be room called Why the downvote?
Neither of them had much activity - but as far as I can tell the intention was to have a place where users can ask for suggestions whether there are some possible improvements to their posts or what could be possible reasons for the downvote.
Still, anonymous feedback looks much harsher than the downvotes that are cast on the site.

@rschwieb In case you missed it, the question had just been discussed here (looking for good dupe targets). The timing suggested the downvote(s) might have been sparked by said exposure here. If so, then a further remark here might reach the folks involved. I've long been puzzled by users who downvote for "stylistic" reasons so whenever I have a chance to better understand such I jump at the opportunity. Alas, I don't usually get very illuminating replies, but one can always hope...
And one can hope that discussion about such will help the community better understand the motivations for different styles of presentation

For those who may not know, I experiment with many different styles of presentation - exploiting color, vertical alignment, notation, etc that I believe helps the reader follow the logical flow and key ideas of the argument. Some readers apparently dislike such presentations so much that they will downvote correct and helpful answers simply due to style. I think we should encourage different styles of presentation, be they verbose or concise, traditional or radical, etc.

@BillDubuque What I'm missing is an answer to my simple question: what sort of help were you looking for?
