@amWhy Thanks! It looks like @LeakyNun has since answered as well and arrived at the same conclusion. Doesn't speak well for the TA :(

@DavidReed No, it doesn't say much about the TA; that's for sure!

@DavidReed I think I can with high accuracy tell whether a question is of that sort or not, in which case I may even upvote. =)
@XanderHenderson And yet I believe this is true too! Questions by motivated people arising from curiosity are nearly always quite different in form and content from questions by lazy people.

@amWhy @Did @ZacharySelk @SimplyBeautifulArt: In particular, this one is a plain PSQ so we don't even need to know whether it's from a contest to justify deleting it.

You need to know its from a contest to justify "deleting" the user :). Someone mentioned he had asked several other questions appearing on it over a 24 hr period.

@DavidReed I'm talking about deleting the post, not the user.

I understand. Was just making certain you were aware of the accusation :)

@DavidReed Sure. I always try to be as precise as possible when making serious judgements, so that's why I didn't say anything about dealing with the user, and I didn't even pinpoint the other posts since I'd rather leave the cheating thing to the moderators. =)

That's a good policy that I embrace as well. I actually had previously said that the deletion of the user should be preceded by "verification" of the accusation.

Yes I had read what you wrote.
Welcome to Math SE! You should include more context to your question, namely not just what you want to show and your claim that you can do it for all positive integers, but also your actual proof for all positive integers. Then you can get proper feedback and help. — user21820 1 min ago

Nice, I should probably find a way to keep that on the clipboard to just paste everywhere as I get tired of typing it.

Q: List of comment templates

user2468Inspired by this question on meta.cstheory.SE. The post at meta.Tex.SE is quite impressive. We often leave generic comments to OP and answer posters such as: "if this is a homework, please add a tag," and such. Can we make this post a community wiki and add a big list of standard comments? Let's...

I didn't copy from there, as I only comment on ambiguous cases, so I always write customized comments.
But a lot of people use some of these canned ones.

Meta question by George Chen: Why are my answers being quietly deleted?. I suppose that users of this room follow meta close enough to notice the post. But since many of those deletions were initiated here, as far as I can tell, probably it's worth adding this meta question here just for the record (as something related to activity of this room).

@LeakyNun Are you talking about this?

yes

@MartinSleziak Thank you for bringing my attention to it.
Let's bring it to full public view!

A: Why are my answers being quietly deleted?

user21820You claim: In the past month or two, the following answers are being quietly deleted two or three at a time without any explanation. Explanations have already been given before and do not need to be repeated. It's debatable (to me) whether this actually has any meaning in today's mathem...

@user21820 Good job of an answer. Two minor quibbles though. 1. "I do refer to these answers from other forums once in a while" My reading is that what GC is saying here is that he also participates in other fora and that he wants his answers to stay on MSE, to be able to refer to them in some questions/answers he posts on these other fora. IOW, the answers are not on other fora, only on MSE, hence your reply misses the argument. ...
@user21820 ... Rather, one could argue that MSE was never meant to serve as a notepad for other fora. 2. Later on, replace " your that post was in response" by " your post was in response".

@Did Oh I see; I had misread that.

@user21820 No problem. As I said, these are minor.

@user21820 Mostly a great answer! Reading Chen's continued defense of his posts, and his claims that the only way anyone would would delete his posts is because they don't understand the answer, but that upvoters clearly do understand so anything upvoted is therefore understandable, any all those who downvote or vote to delete simply does not understand his "magnificent work". The ego this user has amazes me!
@user21820, @Did, @ZacharySelk, @SimplyBeautifulArt, et.al. This question is from a problem set that applicants must complete as part of their applications to a summer program (2018)[math.stackexchange.com/questions/2608424/… needs only one more delete vote to seal its deletion.

2:35 PM
@Did By the way, I just realized that logically my statement remains correct despite my misreading. Specifically, it is true that he could post his stuff on those other forums, and so have no good reason that it should be preserved on Math SE. =D

@DanielFischer: Can you confirm whether I was kick-muted from this room for some time? (I am asking this because, in my search history it stated as such, and I was surprised because I didn't do anything to deserve such a thing.)

@user170039 Please keep your comments constructive, public, and relevant to CRUDE: Closing, reopening, undeleted, deleting, and/or editing. And if you are stalking, as you links to George Chen indicate, so you can collect comments on his behalv and incite that user, that is no longer constructive behavior; seems you've been back and forth inciting a flame war.

@amWhy Feel free to point out any such comment with appropriate reason.

@user170039 You can change your room to gallery, that only keeps folks from writing or commenting. You must see that I haven't writted/posted anything at your secret room. But I can read, and you can't stop me from reading, and I can save transcripts. That's all I need.
@user170039 Just letting you know what this site is for, and also letting you know that while you've been stalking chats to find scraps of conversations to try to destroy a user, I can also sit by to record inappropriate actions of yours, that are not taken out of context.

Meta question needs closure as a duplicate: It belongs on the dedicated thread to ask for undeletions, reopenings: math.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/27744/… One more close vote (as duplicate) is needed.

@user170039 You were. I don't know when that was, or why, however. All I know is that I had a notification banner saying that you've been kick-muted.

Hello, @XanderHenderson

11:38 PM
How many close votes are needed to close a question with 7 upvotes (and an answer with 6 upvotes if this is also relevant)?
@amWhy That's going to hurt :( Oh well. As I mentioned to xander I really only care about reputation when I realize I'm close to something. Currently I'm at 1940 and feel a strong urge to hit 2000.
I guess I should clarify, since I know how you feel about "reputation whores" that I dv'd that question a couple days ago in support of deletion after xander noticed it was a duplicate.

@DavidReed It's always 5, no matter how many upvote are there, see for example this.
Might be you can see this more clearly in this post, which has less diamond moderator's intervention.

Thanks John
