I guess the most reasonable solution would to close it as a duplicate rather than off-topic/lack of context.

Not sure I understand why math.stackexchange.com/questions/1847834/… was closed - arising from a misunderstanding or ignorance but an honest mistake candidly discussed, I thought. Might be a duplicate of course but that wasn't the reason given.

I would not be surprised to find out that there already were some similar questions asked here on math.SE. If that is the case, closing as a duplicate would make sense.

@MartinSleziak: Re: the question quid and David Mitra asked about. I closed it as the second voter. I felt that it is too low level (in relation to the age limit of 13 years), but you can, of course, think differently. It is a moral certainty that it is also a duplicate.

All: The OP of this question has flagged it, asking for deletion. I don't do that to a question with an upvoted answer (as the 1st delete voter). The question was put on hold within 3 hours of getting asked, but has since been abandoned by all parties. What do you guys think?
