Nice - I never noticed

Removed from the wrapper and placed in the jar. I didn't notice the debris until it settled out a day later. It is very fine particulate.

I upgraded my longdog project from a 7 speed to a 9 speed. The 7 speed chain seems to bind in the cassette now.

damn chain is about 135 links long though.

so I need TWO nine-speed chains to fit it.

Or do I file down the existing long chain on one side?

@Criggie I think two new 9-speed chains unfortunately. Filing would take forever.

I think I'll just get a commercial reservoir now I've satisfied myself that it works

@alex only 80psi? I thought pop bottles were rated to at least 120 or 160 psi. How many cycles did the bottle go through? I had thought of trying the pop bottle hack, but instead decided just to opt for a commercial version as I had visions of it bursting at night and waking the family.

Why does a reservoir help seating tubeless?

Rider: Imagine the force available to propel shards of plastic when it ruptures. It would cut skin for sure, and easily take out an eye

@gschenk tubeless sometimes needs a hand to get the beads out and pressing into the rim.

and a large PSSSSHHT of air can help it do that

more-so with a new tyre where the bead wants to be kinda collapsed together, compared to a used tyre that has conformed to the right shape over time.

that's how a cargo strap squashes the tyre and forces the bead out more.
