The other day, the weather was unseasonably nice and a pretty sunset looked forthcoming, so a friend and I decided to go for a short ride down to the Portland waterfront. We ended up catching a beautiful sunset, and had a nice leisurely ride around the Eastbank Esplanade, Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and up the first bit of the Springwater Corridor. It was just about rush hour for bike commuters, with hundreds of cyclists passing over bridges and down bike paths. Here are a few pictures from our trip. (Photos taken by jtbandes) …

@freiheit - I drafted a post for the blog, "The Bicycles Blog wants YOU!" for Wednesday morning. Any suggestions or corrections?
...and I updated the community ad to include the new post.

@NeilFein I fixed a couple obvious typos, made hating fun a link and made "this page is filled with post ideas you can use" link to the meta post. Looks good to me, except that it needs a big Uncle Bicycle pointing at you graphic

Done. Could you maybe make this image inline, with the text flowing around it like you did on that bike parking post?

heh
@NeilFein image on the right or on the left?
(it's on the right now)

2:17 AM
It looks good on the right. Thanks!

@NeilFein For future reference: all you have to do in the wysiwyg editor is click on the photo, click on the icon that pops up on it, then select the "right" or "left" radio button.

I don't have the wyswig editor. That's my problem. (I didn't realize this was just me!)
But I can just add imgclass="alignright" in the <img> tag.

@NeilFein you don't get a wysiwyg editor on the blog? just the plain HTML one? weird

Yeah, it's been that way for a while.

it says "Visual" next to "HTML" on a tab for me

I don't see either, unless it's because some of the edit screen is cut off for me.

Ohhhhh....

Ah, found the problem.
There's a setting, "Disable the visual editor when writing". I unchecked it, now all is well.
I both love and hate wordpress.

Q: Cyclometer synonym for bike-computer?

JefromiI don't have anywhere near the rep to propose this directly, but cyclometer seems like a good synonym for bike-computer. It took me a few seconds to realize how I should tag a question I just posted - and if I'd had 300 rep I would've unwittingly created the cyclometer tag instead!
