Interesting post on Scifi: @stackscifi improvements. It's about feeds, and what's available. Perhaps we should do one of these?

Q: Bike Contest - Reconsidered

SamTheBrand ΨYour concerns about the stolen bike contest have been heard and the contest is being reconsidered. First, let me tell you that as part of the CHAOS team, it's my job to bring in new users from the outside. As such, I designed this contest - with much help from the moderators & not enough hel...

@SamTheBrand Do you need/want a mod to close your original bike contest post?

5:20 PM
@freiheit - yes please!

@SamTheBrandΨ What close reason should it have? "too localized", "not constructive", "not a real question"?
I'm thinking "too localized
This question is unlikely to ever help any future visitors; it is only relevant to a small geographic area, a specific moment in time, or an extraordinarily narrow situation that is not generally applicable to the worldwide audience of the internet." is closest (the specific moment in time passed and there's a new plan)

@NeilFein I say we do the question of the month for august as a "poll" meta post. :)
This is a good start, though: bicycles.stackexchange.com/?tab=month

AprecheThis might seem like a really basic question, but there's no harm in asking. I've never had a bicycle with drop handlebars. I've always had sort of standard horizontal bars with only one hand position, which is on the rubber grips. I'm outgrowing the bike I have now, and thinking of upgrading nex...

Q: Why don't brakes come with 'Safety Levers' any more?

KibbeeIt used to be very common to see bikes with dual pull brake levers (if that's even the right name) as shown below. However now it seems almost impossible to find brakes like this. Even finding a picture to post was hard. It seems like it would be quite useful to be able to brake from various ha...

Q: Safety vests: Yellow vs. Orange?

jacWhat are the factors that should affect whether my visibility will be higher with a "high visibility Yellow" vs. a "high visibility Orange" vest or jacket? It seems too simplistic to simply say "Yellow is better" or "Orange is better' - there are a number of conditions that I often note affect ...
