Q: Closure: Example of a rock song that cadences iiø7-V-i

Yubin-chanExample of a minor-key rock song that ends with a ii∅7-V-i cadence This question was just closed as too broad. I don't get why. I am just limiting to an example of a rock song that cadences iiø7-V-i. Why was it closed?

@Donald.McLean hi, a featured post on meta requires your attention, thanks

@Bebs I voted to close the recent question How to delete an Artists from the Spotify library? as off-topic following your vote to close, since the question seems to be more about Spotify support than about music appreciation (broadly speaking).

user185131
I recall seeing a few other questions about Spotify, so I did a search and found the following three: How to find "recommended" playlists in Spotify, What are the inefficiencies of Spotify? and Spotify radio cannot hide songs?

user185131
The first one seems on-topic to me—it's more like a question about using a piece of technology to improve one's listening experience than a support question for the app. The second is already closed as opinion-based.

user185131
But the third one ought to be closed, imo. It too reads like a support question for the Spotify app, like the one recently asked about deleting artists from the library. So, I've voted to close it as off-topic for this reason.

user185131
I thought it would be good to pre-emptively list my thoughts about the other Spotify questions, hence the above messages.

Most of these questions could have been gone by Roomba if no one answered :/

True!

user185131
What we can do now is to vote to delete some of these closed questions, if we have the necessary rep to do so

ok
@Brahadeesh but first look if it can go roomba
do you have the roomba plug-in?

user185131
The "inefficiencies of Spotify" one won't be Roomba'd because the answer is accepted and has a positive score.

user185131
@Bebs I use this script to know about the Roomba status of questions: stackapps.com/q/7239/61479

@Brahadeesh , that's the one. I use it too

It's quite useful for cleanup! And also to push some unanswered but interesting questions away from auto-deletion as well, but that's rare.

I "clean" unanswered off-topic questions this way, sometimes, without flagging or asking for closure

user185131
@Bebs Me too

user185131
Btw, since the recent network-wide change in the close reasons list, it looks like the "Needs details or clarity" close reason works just as well for ID questions that lack info as our custom close reason for such questions. What do you think?

indeed both reasons can apply sometimes, but the standard Needs details or clarity seems to be for an unclear question, when you don't even understand what OP wants
I don't see the word detail in the sense we use it for detailed ID questions
it's just splitting hairs :)

user185131
We rarely receive such hopelessly unclear questions, though, isn't it? It makes that close reason itself quite redundant for us.

On Math.SE for instance, there are loads of questions where one has literally no idea what the OP is asking. (I think a technical stack tends to receive more such questions. . .)

yes indeed, but we still need Needs details or clarity as it's standard for SE

user185131
@Bebs That's right. I was just thinking of other ways to make our close reasons more streamlined, along with the proposal to add a new one for YAL ID questions.

ok, I'll think about it
we still need to indicate user that his question needs to indicate what research efforts he did, so we don't spend time to re-try
@Dom, hi, could you check this please:
1
Q: Let's add an off-topic close reason for YouTube video soundtrack ID questions

BrahadeeshWe regularly receive questions asking to identify songs used as soundtracks in YouTube videos. This Q&A posted on our Meta nearly a year ago explain very well the reasons for why such questions should be considered off-topic on our site. Considering the upvotes on that proposal, it's a good idea ...

Please give the community time to process and give feedback. I gave it the featured flag so everyone should be able to see it.

@Bebs I was browsing SEDE to see if there were any queries to find closed questions sorted by close reason, and I found this interesting query: data.stackexchange.com/musicfans/query/552453/…

user185131
Although, I don't know, you might have access to similar results already from the 5k privilege?

user185131
@Dom Sure!

user185131
@Dom Could you take a look at these old Meta posts of mine when you get time, about tag cleanup? 1. sample vs. sampling, 2. song-interpretation vs. meaning and 3. concert vs. live-music.

@Brahadeesh have to go, I'll check it tomorrow

user185131
@Bebs Sure, no hurry!

About 3. above, action was already taken by @JohnnyBones, but it is at odds with the discussion in the comments, so it's a bit confusing.

user185131
I will also republish this older message of mine, about merging synonymised tags:

I was just going through some FAQs on Meta SE and I came across the following: the FAQ for tagging suggests that "all good synonyms should eventually be merged." Are the mods of the same opinion? @Donald.McLean

Dom
Please let the community vote. I really don't want to just do all of these with no input from the community.

user185131
@Dom Understood, no problem.
