9:00 PM
lately I've found myself hankering for D&D or Shadowrun

@WorldEngineer Man I really want to play Pathfinder.

user20683
@durron597 debating that vs 3.5 vs 5th

user20683
I tend to like Eberron, Dark Sun, and Planescape

@WorldEngineer I haven't looked into 5th, but 4th looked horrible last time I looked into it.

user20683
not fond of FR or Dragonlance

user20683
9:01 PM
@durron597 4th was horrible, 5th is much better for the cursory glances

user20683
still has dragonborn though...

There's no reason to play 3.5 over pathfinder as far as I'm concerned, unless you want you fighter to be bored and everyone to be jealous of the wizard.

user20683
but it does say that drow are dm's discretion (thank god)

user20683
no warforged in the main book

user20683
still got tieflings, no eladrin as PCs

9:07 PM
perks of an HDHP - when you get close to hitting your OOP max you stop caring!

user41796
@enderland "Achievement Unlocked!"

wooo free elective medical!
though, not quite

I know people who bought their cars with magic cards.
Played a decent shadowrun game on the PC a few months back
</catches up with convo>

user20683
@Telastyn yeah, that's a good one. It's a pity it barely runs on my system

user55340
I know a guy who bought a $100k vintage car for $0.03. Granted, those pennies were rare and worth $33k or so each.

user55340
9:14 PM
One of those "how much did you spend on that car" stories.

user55340
As a kid, he collected coins and got lucky at a garage sale with buying a jar of pennies the owner didn't want to count.

Though it makes me a little happy that I have a single card worth $500+
Nice

user55340
Back in the day, heard a story of s guy who bought a lotus for $5 in a parking ramp.

@MichaelT Holy crap

user55340
Late night, guy didn't have cash trying to get money for getting out of the ramp.

9:21 PM
@MichaelT Eh, that story isn't as good as the $33k pennies story
what's a lotus worth, 1k?

user55340
Tried to sell it for $100. Guy with cash said "nope, costs you $5 to get out of the ramp... Here is $5, or you spend the night here"

that's dumb, get someone to drive you to an ATM

Unlimited black lotus is currently $5,500 median on TCG

or borrow $5
or whatever
my coworker claims he has a bunch of power 9 in his parents house and has no idea how much they're worth
i'll believe it when i see it.

user55340
3am strange town after a tournament. Young guy back when not everyone had a credit card or checking account.

9:23 PM
Afk, driving.

user55340
(Think ~'95 or so)

@MichaelT The only reason I believe my coworker is that he's the right age, around 34 or so

how to do you play enough magic to have multiple power 9 and not even bother to figure out how much they're worth this many years later?

9:26 PM
@MichaelT This is pretty recent

user55340
Two Econ related npr posts.

user55340
Just recent things I remember. And if you are talking Econ and mtg....

user55340
9:44 PM
... Looking at deleted posts... @GlenH7 so you're learning Haskell too?

user41796
Needed some therapy

user41796
stupid misaligned data

user41796
Hoping my function to compare two lists via reflection works though

user55340
Reflection - a sword with no hilt. Hold it carefully, it can cut you just as easily as the Gordian knot.

user41796
@MichaelT Yeah, if this one works, it's going to be awesome. If not... Gonna be messy.

user55340
9:49 PM
Fingers all over the place.

user41796
It will be interesting to see what happens with the wrapper properties I have on the class

user41796
Think I'm going to call it a day - I just lopped off a finger. :-(

user41796
read: failed to account for some cases I want to ignore.

user55340
My reflection cloner is about 200 lines in Java, and I skipped doing the Map.

user55340
Uses getter/setter pairs.

user55340
9:54 PM
If src has getXYZ and seat has setXYX, and they have matching types... Do magic.

10:25 PM
wow
this is bad
nothing like having a root password of "password1" on a critical accounting system

user20683
@whatsisname -.-

@MichaelT I think a strategy like this is the only way a CCG will stick around

10:59 PM
also I'm 99% sure all the users also have that exact same password

11:29 PM
I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it should be on Programmers, if anywhere. — Rex M 57 secs ago
