@TheSimpliFire Do you agree that it is wrong to call people who support the EOQS a "gang" who "downvote for no reason"? If so, please send that user a warning regarding the EOQS and the error in their comment.

@davidlowryduda: I recently flagged an account named "Steve Daou" for its Math SE profile claiming to have been created in 2021 Nov but having two ancient answers (from 2014 if I recall correctly). The flag was marked helpful but with no other remark. I would like to know two things: (1) How did that (answers posted before stated creation date) happen? (2) Did that account have any illegitimate interaction with the recent election?

@user21820 I'll open up a private room with them.

@TheSimpliFire Oh okay thank you very much!
(I'll note that I wasn't even one of the downvoters but I don't see any problem with downvotes when friendly pointers to the EOQS are rudely dismissed.)

This user (979418) asked three questions now, all with the premise that they tried and stuck. Is it enough for them to be flagged?

12:18 PM
@soupless That's a common formula. Might as well shorten to "I tried. I stuck. Help plz?".

@user21820 I notice the same thing for a different users, see MartinR's comment. I am not sure if it is applicable to your situation though. Indeed I searched the username "steve daou" and can't find the account anymore.

@ArcticChar So the SE developers didn't bother to fix the bug. Good to know.

@user21820 I'm now taking a look
@user21820 Actually, I'm hitting an early wall. I cannot find an account with this name. Do you have a link to the account?

@user21820 This account has been deleted. This account was also merged with other accounts and the history is very convoluted. The community team looks at possible sockpuppetry during the election and that doesn't seem to be a problem to me.

5:55 PM
@davidlowryduda Ok thanks for the explanation!

@soupless These would have been excellent questions to post in a request for closure on CURED. I agree with your thoughts. So my three recent requests in CURED are for each of those posts. Please know you are welcome to participate in CURED! Thanks for the heads up!
@user21820 I reply to this post, because I too would like to know why this user hadn't already been addressed, given information I provided you yesterday, @TheSimpliFire, and why such comments remained after I flagged them? Do my requests need to be backed by someone else, before action I requested yesterday would even be considered?
But I do want to say to both @TheSimpliFire, and @davidlowryduda, thanks for being here, in this room, on a weekend.

@amWhy I wasn't the person who handled the flags, but I think I will leave that comment for now as evidence when I raise the issue with them (which they can see as >20k rep). Note: they're written this meta post which they've since undeleted math.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/34319/…

@TheSimpliFire Okay, got it. Thanks.

@TheSimpliFire And how are mods planning to answer that question?

@amWhy Probably like any other anti-quality complaint question
In fact, the question is quite close to being a duplicate of the many downvote complaint questions on meta

@TheSimpliFire I understand; what concerns me, though, is that such a user is allowed to repeatedly denigrate other users, e.g., their comment accusing "a gang", including me. Such accusations often make some of us the target for revenge. They are not empty statements.

@amWhy I know. I have mentioned that to them in chat.

@TheSimpliFire True, but if I were to close as such a dupe, it will be seen by them as "see, one of the gang led the march to close this post!!"
@TheSimpliFire I appreciate it. I am not angry with you at all. But many mods have left moderating users who are not mods, suffer consequences for trying to only help mods, and moreso, this site: having to deal with insults made with impunity, regularly, and ongoing revenge downvoting.

It's one of the many unfortunate products of society, but (at least on this site) a lot of the time they don't get impunity though.

9:25 PM
@TheSimpliFire True. :-)
