4:20 PM
hey
I submitted an edit to a question, and it got refused. I did it again with a comment explaining it better, and it got refused again.
I'm pretty sure this edit is important (it corrects a typo which has an effect on the question): can someone unrefuse my edit?

@amWhy I have a query

The thing is, I'm close to 100% certain my edit is worthy: the question is about a definition, and cites a passage of a book, but does so wrongly, which is confusing.

@TheSimpliFire Is this the same issue again? (I roughly remember those funny comments, which is one characterization, but I am not sure)

@ArcticChar Yes, I've flagged all of them a few days ago but they are all still pending, giving a chance for that person to continue their account streak.

@ouimerci Which was your edit? When we evaluate edits, we see only the original, and the proposed edit. Users are not to use edits to make a wrong question, right. We can format in mathjax, and fix grammar mistakes. The better action to take is writing a comment below the question to suggest the OP correct it. A rejected edit suggestion does not reflect badly on you.

4:31 PM
@TheSimpliFire good. I am not flagging it then.

There are many ways to easily spot it:
1) Please answer comments
2) "Let, " (note the comma)
3) Bolding/blockquoting questions
4) "My attempt(s)-" or "Attempt(s):"
5) Almost always uses complex-analysis tag
6) Uses 5 tags (maximum) before edited out by users **(no longer the case)**
7) Multiple insubstantial edits (asking for feedback)
8) One-word username

LOL
@ouimerci Can you explain what is the difference between oplus and the one you use?

@TheSimpliFire OMG, again???!!!

@amWhy doesn't the link to the edit work?
@ArcticChar well, in the reference, they don't use oplus without the hat, as far as I can see
but just oplus usually means "linear algebraic direct sum", and I think the hat is to accentuate the fact that you also have orthogonality
and since it's a question of definition, I think you have to be careful with notation

@amWhy It's been going on since last October and it doesn't seem they will stop anytime soon.

4:38 PM

@amWhy I admit I took things a bit too personally :) but I do think the edit is worthy. If you feel like it isn't I'll leave it at that, but I'm interested in the reason

I also notice they almost always use a one-word female name with a gravatar or gmail letter as a picture

@MartinR Can anyone remember other one-word female names posting such nonsense?

@ouimerci Well I guess it makes sense that the reviewers reject it. They do not know why you are changing the notation, and you did not explain it (just say "significant typo", which is not clear at all). Also, even with that change, that question is still quite unclear.

@TheSimpliFire See my reply to Martin R immediately below your last comment to me here. I voted to close math.stackexchange.com/questions/4193295/… using a custom message.

4:58 PM
OK then, thanks for the explanation

@TheSimpliFire Notice "Jenny's" comment to me:
@amWhy So, will the zeros be atmost countable? Please answer and I will delete the question. — Jenny 4 mins ago
^^^^ And that was after creating a custom reason for closure of "her" post.
I'll let mods take it from here. This has gone on too, too, too long.
@ArcticChar math.stackexchange.com/questions/4192598/…. @TheSimpliFire, See also "princess/jenny's response to me to that linked question:
@amWhy Please answer. I will follow as you say. — Princess 29 mins ago

@amWhy See this
No need to engage with them at all.

@TheSimpliFire I will no more. Thanks. This is something that's gone on too, too, too long. WE need MODERATORS.
@TheSimpliFire It seems my last comment to jenny or princess, was following that precise pattern in your last link..
I swear, one can become experienced in forensic criminal profiling on this site, @TheSimpliFire! lol ;D

5:43 PM
@TheSimpliFire Why do I seem to be the only user voting to close the three or four posts I've voted to close? Mods can take a week to respond; though I've flagged, we need to do what we can to rid such posts, TheSimplifire and @MartinR. Please post such examples in CURED, where it will likely get more exposure.

1 hour later…
7:05 PM
@amWhy I voted to close because it is a poor question. I think that the account duplication is better handled with moderator flags than with close votes (but I will gladly be taught better).

7:15 PM
@MartinR Lots of flags have been cast. I agree with you. thanks for your contributions here, and everywhere you go ;)

@amWhy Concerning the multiple accounts, I know a user that was banned for a year for this. So, whoever does something like that, probably plays with the fire.

7:32 PM
@Peter Indeed. Each and every time, from the effort to bribe a user to answer, and the impatience, they give themself away (and their MO). I think that was similar to the user you speak of, @Peter. I joked somewhere today that we need a profiler!!!
