@MartinSleziak By the way, this is not the first time you post a link to that old post of mine. Are you trying to tell me something? Shaking your head in disbelief how far that is from some of my recent views? Anyway, I might even read this to be a sign that you like that idea :-)

For the benefit of others, this is related to messages posted in another room: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/19138/2020/10/31 Which are related to this post: Why a question without showing any work is getting upvoted?
@JyrkiLahtonen It is simply a memorable post. And, personally, I do follow your advice from that post.
I suppose you consider this more suitable for the office, since you replied here...?
BTW I did not know that you changed your mind about this issue. I should probably follow more closely what you say on meta and in chat.

I did not decide to talk about the extremely unimportant thing (the actions taken by some moderator to this post), but I do that to help preventing some contradictory policies occur in this community.
in Later's Room, 58 mins ago, by Later
I, as a novice user, did something wrong, namely, addressing a specific user in my first meta post (In fact, I did not name the user in my post but mentioned their profile as a hyperlink; even if I had not done that, any user could easily have found their name by seeing my past activities in my profile). However, I decided to apologize the user publicly in the place that I had done my misdeed, that is, Meta.

I also added a discussion/ feature request which helps other novice users not to do similar misdeeds due to some misleading tag. Some people think that this is an unrelated subject, but I do not think so because the existence of that tag assured me of addressing a specific user in my post.

But, a moderator first commented "If you want to apologize you could do so in chat for example. For the tag, that's a separate concern and should be posted as such (if at all).", then closed the post, and finally deleted it.

I do not want to ask others to reverse the actions taken to the post because I am not inclined at all to contribute to Meta. However, there are two points concerning some contradictory attitudes:

First, the moderator said "If you want to apologize you could do so in chat for example." I think this is not the. best way because the users viewing my meta post would not be aware of my apology; I should apologize the user in the place that I addressed them.

In any case, why did (does) the moderator close and delete congratulation posts because of their own reason? Users can easily congratulate any user in chat rooms.

Second, in the "theory of moderation" it has been stated

> The ideal moderator does as little as possible. But those little actions may be powerful and highly concentrated. Judiciously limiting your use of moderator powers to selectively prune and guide the community — now that’s the true art of moderation.

(In my opinion, this paragraph is the only information any moderator should know for moderation).

If my meta post was off-topic (?!), then why do we not allow other users normally to cast their close or delete votes without using any special moderator power? Did the post contain some extremely sensitive information that a moderator had to use user their power to close and delete it immediately?

@AlexanderGruber Aren't you dressing up for Halloween? Thus far, robjohn, is the only one in costume! You'd make a good dracula, But I guess we could say you're in costume, as Dr. Gruber, MD!
^^^^ robjohn, aka "The Mean Square", aka, temporarily, "The Mean Squash"!
