@RoddyMacPhee It seems there is only one Bill that WAS a mod. And that was quite some times ago... Why bring this up?

hello
I had a flag declined here - may I know why?

@double-beep Spam flags are meant for spam. When these are helpful they are used to automatically train the filter for spam. The correct flag would be "rude or abusive".

> To a quite large extent, spam and R/A flags are nearly identical. The primary difference is that an R/A flag prevents the post from becoming an audit in the review queues. However, there are some moderators who don't treat the flags identically, even though most of the guidance on Meta is that they should be treated the same.

@RoddyMacPhee It's Bill Dubuque, not bill dubuwue.. Is it the same Roddy to rodi ?

10:03 PM
I typoed, also alternate spelling of roddy is roddie, and it's short for roderick. some people I went to school call me rodney to this day.

10:14 PM
@RoddyMacPhee well but that is for you, your particular case. You should respect user's names.
specially this user, have you seen his profile? .I bet no.

10:33 PM
yes actually I've seen a lot of posts by him as well, we share interests. I still simply typoed. I've taught modular arothmetic to professors of mathematics and engineers before, titles don't actually mean much to me.

@RoddyMacPhee It is generally not appropriate to single out particular users in public. If you have a problem with a user, either learn to live with it, or use flags to get in touch with the moderators.
You can, I think, even request a private chat with the mods---@quid might be able to shed light.
