Since editing of help center is discussed, I will mention two posts about search: Should we add external searches in some help pages about search? and How to search on this site?
I'll admit that the CW-post which is currently could do with some improvements. (I think that some of them were discussed in chat, but I'm not sure whether I would be able to find those discussions again.)
I was reminded of this by Jack's comment:
Why has this post not been faq yet? — Jack Oct 5 at 20:12

I tend to agree that what is and is not tagged "faq"s is not maintained as well as they should be.

Should comment chains of the form:
P1: You can do thing A and then get B.
P2: Can you put that as an answer?
and then P1 writes an answer in more detail

be flagged?
will mods delete such chains when they see them?
I wonder because I think I read at some point that you shouldn't flag comments for being "superfluous" but rather just for being abusive, but a chain of that form I had participated in disappeared, so I guess the comments must have been flagged by someone

@s.harp Yes. Comments are generally meant to be transient. The usual analogy is that they are similar to "post-it notes". When the issues being addressed do not exist anymore, they vanish to reduce noise.

so should i flag such comments in future?

@s.harp One of the options for flagging comments is "no longer needed". That one seem suitable for the situation you describe.
You can find a bunch of posts on meta related to this, for example, if you browse a bit through the question tagged flagging+comment.

@s.harp Yes, if/when you think it would be useful. As Martin mentions, flag them as "no longer needed".
