That sounds like good advice to me, which would apply to MSE as well. Would it be possible to add it to this site's How do I ask a good question?? Who can modify that page and what would the process be?

@MartinR The nswer to this question list parts of help center which can be modified by the mods: What parts of the help center can site moderators edit?

However, I recall some of the mods mentioning that on some sites this was expanded and the moderators can edit also some other parts of help center.

@MartinSleziak Thanks for the link. “How do I ask a good question?” is not on the list as far as I can see. On the other hand, some things might have changed. For example here it is stated that the “What types of questions should I avoid asking?” should be consistent across the networks – which it isn't (e.g. Code Review has a special version).

Anyway: I am thinking of making a suggestion on Meta, but before doing that I would like to have some confirmation if such a modification is possible at all.

(On the other hand that might be wasted effort: How many (new) users read all FAQs before posting a question?)

We could also add this somewhere in our Meta Q/A "How to ask a good question".

I am pretty sure that it is possible to modify help center - only that some parts can be edited by mods, for some parts you need a SE employee to do that.

I think there were some discussions about improvements to help center on Mathematics Meta where the proposed changes have actually be implemented.

In any case, we can wait a bit to see whether we get some confirmation of this by a moderator.

@MartinSleziak Thanks for the links. I should have recalled that you often give useful global links in your meta chat. I found them by obvious web searches before I noticed the local discussions. Alas, I haven't been active much recently so I haven't been following local chats.

I would object a bit to the phrase your meta chat. (As the room wasn't started by me. And it is intended for everybody.) Although it's definitely true that I am among the more frequent posters there. (It says that 36% of messages are mine.)

Anyway, this is not really that important.

Regarding modifying help center, IIRC the position of SE is that they do modify stuff if it is important. But for obvious reasons they rather not maintain 100+ ever so slightly different versions of help center pages.

Imagine they decide to change something in the standard version how do they push this change to all the sites preserving slight tweaks?
