@samerivertwice Do any of the Math.SE mods have opinions / thoughts on the recent mass mod resignation protest over SE firing of a popular mod?

@BillDubuque There is a featured post on meta which seems related: Firing mods and forced relicensing: sudden changes at SE.

@BillDubuque There is very little to add to quid's answer on the post linked my Martin. (I am mostly in agreement with the answer.) Of course, that is also my personal opinion and not an indication of consensus in the team.

@BillDubuque I'm not a mod

@samerivertwice I don't know how that got adressed to you (I didn't address it to anyone).

What do you think about it @BillDubuque? (Feel free to ignore.)

@quid I was hoping to find further details here. There does not seem to be enough public info available to make accurate inferences. I hadn't seen our meta thread when I first posted the above (found it first on Slashdot). It is disappointing that SE didn't handle the matter more constructively. This seems as bad as some of the early blunders SE made here. By now you'd think they'd have better policies in place to prevent such mistakes.

I see. I did not know it was on Slashdot, but could have guessed. It's been a while I visited that site.

@quid It seems to be very widely disseminated: The Register, ycombinator hacker news, reddit, slashdot, etc. Quite bad publicity for SE.

@BillDubuque Indeed, it's unfortunate. It's hard to understand how it came to it all. It completely 'snowballed' if this is the right idiom.

@quid Did you peruse the transcript in the Teachers Lounge? Is there more to it than what has been reported? It's hard to believe they took such drastic action based on what little has been reported.

Please help me here "https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/3379867/problem-with-a-system-of-equation?noredirect=1#comment6954417_3379867"
The comments will make me seek as well
I have one more concern in future is there any chance to change the rules of bounty that if someone would not answer then the OP should get his/her points back?

@Shadow that suggestion comes up often and is unlikely to happen.
@BillDubuque as mentioned in comment on this post the problem is that even this does not suffice to get a full picture as there seems to be private correspondence too.
