BTW in the specific case JohnMa linked to I at least see why somebody thinks that (abstract-algebra) should be included. But I do not see why (determinant) fits there. (Maybe I have missed something.)

I doubt that this is really important - since migrations from MO are probably rather seldom.
But still I will point out that some of the synonyms setup here will no longer work:

A: MO-MSE tag incompatibility

Willie WongI have keyed in the synonym mappings for most of the arXiv tags. A few slight mismatches: ca.analysis-and-odes points now to analysis; ODE questions will need retagging manually after migration from MO. ra.rings-and-algebras now maps to abstract-algebra. cv.complex-variables goes to comple...

Some of the top-level tags on MO have changed their names after increase to 35 character limit: is now (ca.classical-analysis-and-odes), is now (oc.optimization-and-control) and is now (kt.k-theory-and-homology).
I have mentioned this also in MO editor's lounge (about a month ago): chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/40838146#40838146

I see that the comment mentioning "MR is stubborn as all hell" has been flagged. Personally, I do not thing that there is something wrong with this comment. (Maybe somebody might consider mentioning a specific user sufficient reason for flagging, but I do not think so.)

@MartinSleziak I don't think this is in any way offensive, but rather a fact, given this user's history of engaging in edit wars, to retain his added tags, which most others find too much of a stretch. In any case, I wouldn't be surprised that it would have been MR who flagged. Also, I responded to SM's most recent complaint on meta, which you seem to have endorsed completely. It is an oversimplistic approach(es) unless, as I suggested, new users are prohibited from posting until x, y, z

@MartinSleziak What I meant wrt replying to the comment you posted above, is that I agree that I really see nothing wrong with it. Then I started addressing a meta post, and so my comment to you probably seems confusing.
