This isn't on topic for Stack Overflow, which is meant for help with specific debugging issues, not general architecture questions. Might be more suited to software engineering exchange — Jayce444 18 secs ago

Why are you posting this question in a site for programmers? Common sense answer to your question is "because Google and Microsoft are competitors and will not spend valuable resources on creating compatibility with each others' products for free" — teylyn 58 secs ago

@JohnFilleau: Unfortunately, a huge percentage of new C and C++ programmers do it, then come here because they don't understand why *bar/bar[0] is exploding on them, so you'll have a lot of folks to draw and quarter. :-) I consider attaching the *s to the name, not the type (even when there is only one name being declared), to be a best practice in line with using prefix increment by default (even when the type is a primitive for which postfix increment is harmless and the result isn't used, e.g. for loop increments); because you want to develop habits that lead to correct code. — ShadowRanger 57 secs ago

Really appreciate it, boss! I'm studying to become a software engineer and this is my first time learning C so even an easy problem will be a struggle for me. Thanks anyway! — Watusshi 33 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. Product recommendations are off-topic here because they are opinion-based matters. See softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic instead for software recommendations. — TylerH 41 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. Please take the tour to learn how Stack Overflow works and read How to Ask on how to improve the quality of your question. Then check the help center to see what questions you can ask. Please see: Why is “Is it possible to…” a poorly worded question?. — Progman 13 secs ago

Questions asking us to recommend or find a book, tool, software library, tutorial or other off-site resource are off-topic for Stack Overflow as they tend to attract opinionated answers and spam. Instead, describe the problem and what has been done so far to solve it. You may be able to get help on the Software Recommendations Stack Exchange, but please read through their help center first to ensure your question is on topic there. — MattDMo 36 secs ago

@Heisenberg This question is probably more on topic on softwareengineering.stackexchange - but also be aware that that site tends to attract more downvotes. — dwjohnston 26 secs ago

Welcome to SO. Please read What topics can I ask about and How to ask a good question and The perfect question. SO is not the place to ask for a tutorial, nor the place to find free programmers. Your question should show that you've put some effort into solving your own problem and should be answerable without writing half a book. — icecub 32 secs ago

@NarenYellavula - I disagree. The question asks for a solution that is equivalent to a code snippet they show, which tests for null or undefined. Your answer is not equivalent to that test. This propagates a bad habit that many JavaScript programmers have. — ToolmakerSteve 57 secs ago
