@kaby76: it's certainly true that there are many issues with that code. However, this site is organised around the idea that a question and its answer(s) address a single specific issue, thus making them useful to other programmers with the same problem. The question certainly was specific, which is great, and I attempted to answer it in those terms, confident that OP will open another question if necessary to address other problems they are unable to resolve themselves. — rici 9 secs ago

Is he paying the internet to do your job? He's taking advantage of you. And "finding workarounds little by little" is trial and error, not software engineering. I hate to be the bearer of such harsh news but it's true. — madreflection 43 secs ago

Is he paying the internet to do your job? He's taking advantage of you. And "finding workarounds little by little" is trial and error, not software engineering. You will never build a maintainable product that way. You have to learn how to plan and that won't happen if you can barely keep the wheels on the cart while you're zooming down the road. — madreflection 52 secs ago

I'm just an intern, and he's a software engineer. but he's too busy and I don't have the courage to say that I can't finish this task in my remaining 4 weeks to this company. I'm working as an I.T assistant and doing troubleshoot to their employees but this is the only task that was given to me by him =( — Alfredo Canonizado 5 secs ago

This installation error should be reported back to author of pygame_sdl2 so that the author can fix the code which produces the error on execution. You could look on the file %LocalAppData%\Programs\Python\Python36-32\lib\genericpath.p‌y on line 36 and the lines above where path variable (awful name for a variable) must be somehow defined with obviously an empty string or empty object if you are familiar with Python code writing. But the programmers here on Stack Overflow are not for fixing code written by others than the questioner resulting in error on installation of something. — Mofi 27 secs ago

@thebusybee That is applicable for code which then reliably write values to the variables. Which this code does not in all cases. Defining variables, initialising and first writing them are different things. Only initialising when if needed is an optimisation, for which the ban on premature optimisation applies. It also is an optimisation for more experienced programmers which can afford to take additional risks. Yes, I agree that it is an optimisation. — Yunnosch 32 secs ago

Stackoverflow doesn't work like this. Good questions include code and a way to reproduce a problem: stackoverflow.com/help/how-to-ask . @petezurich- i don't understand the reason for downvote, problem here is how to implement the solution when there are no proper results on google. As this is a programmers community, i have posted so that it helps in understanding what needs to be done, How to start the work. It is very easy to reduce the reputation just by giving downvote. — Rakesh 22 secs ago

As background, there are different forms of character encoding. bs4 assumes UTF-8, but your text isn't, which is why you got the error. (So making utf-8 explicit wouldn't help!) You need to determine the encoding, which isn't always easy. Can you share the source URL? — Josh Friedlander just now

@A I've made a referencing more clear, agree that it is relevant comment. I think that you do not mind if I extend your incisiveness with some clarity on integration tests. Common approach for integration tests assumes to reduce amount of mocks to zero. Integration test could use mocks when there are many cross dependencies though, but obviously it is not our case at all. I can advice you to check out this SE topic to softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/q/347323/307798 and check out a blog post by M. Fowler martinfowler.com/bliki/IntegrationTest.html. The problem is that you have several problems. Overall you're polluting RxJS's reactive structure with imperative logic (conditionals, variables...) and promises that you haven't converted to observables. getActivePlan() in particular is overcomplicated and shows you haven't grasped RxJS fundamentals yet. ReactiveX is hard for OO programmers to get at first, but the high learning curve is worth it. Keep working at it. Learn RxJS is a great resource along with many RxJS and Angular tutorials online. — Adam Dunkerley 34 secs ago

OMG! Sorry guys. After reading all of your inputs I have went back and changed them all. It was the little things like not putting &..... I have since changed the code. And now it works. I wonder, is there any good way (practice) that programmers do to not get confused with the placment of brackets when the program is too difficult or too long to read? — Roger SNITH 42 secs ago

@DavidSchwartz: In general, the stronger the semantic guarantees offered by a language/platform, the less work programmers will have to do to perform various tasks efficiently and reliably. I see no reason to blame programmers for the Committee's refusal to recognize that different platforms can offer different semantic guarantees, and that in many cases the most efficient way to perform many tasks on all platforms of interest will be to exploit guarantees that aren't supportable on all platforms. — supercat just now

...uselessly-emulated 64-bit atomic reads and writes, even if one gained phony 64-bit compare-and-swap in the bargain. If the Standard had required that all implementations at minimum support compiler reordering barriers, those would be sufficient to accomplish many tasks even on platforms that can't support everything in the standard atomics library, and programmers could be faulted for failing to use them as appropriate (almost any implementation could support such directives in compatible fashion by disabling optimization and defining the barrier as an empty macro). — supercat just now
