Please use a debugger. Discussing a problem which nobody can reproduce will never help. If you are not able to use a debugger, add debug couts as long as you understand what is going on. @MartynA Good question. My boss asked for this. He wants some external javascript-programmers, who use vscode, start with freepascal / delphi without changing their environment. He wants to spare them the need to make aquaintance of a new IDE, and by this achieving greater acceptance learning a new language. I too really don't know what the benefits of coding in vscode are vs coding in Lazarus or Delphi. But the boss asked for this. — Stefan Nolte 27 secs ago

Service is not an Angular term, it's a paradigm in software engineering that Angular uses. Services contain the repeated business logic that does not belong to a certain component (sharing data is not business logic rather a workaround to overcome a programming issue). If you want your service to save its output then you should inject persistence (local storage, db, apollo, etc.) as context to that service. Besides, this variable in your shared service is accessible to any piece of your application without any hierarchical constraints, very similar to global variable pattern. — Wildhammer 24 secs ago

Say rather that we old school programmers know of DBCS but also know of UTF-8: for we all know that programmers are just like addicts when they say 'one more line and I'll quit!' I'm sure some programmers eventually quit but frankly programming really is like an addiction for me; I get withdrawals from it. It's a good point that you add here. I don't like C++ (I tried really really hard to like it even writing quite a bit of it but it still is for me aesthetically unappealing to say the least) so I can't comment there but you make a good point anyway so have a +1. — Pryftan 27 secs ago

It's been a long time since I wrote any PHP, but in general this solution seems like the wrong approach to me now, especially in a case as complex as many to many polymorphic inheritance. Inheritance mapping smells of hard coupling your database schema to your object graph, which is an abuse of the RDBMS.
