They would've downvoted because Stack Overflow is for help with specific problems, not general "how do I build something like this" type questions. Maybe the software engineering stack exchange might be a more suitable place: softwareengineering.stackexchange.comJayce444 30 secs ago

Random aside - this question jumpstarted my entire career in software engineering (because it sucked me into contributing to pandas). Crazy to circle back 7 years later and realize I write code (sometimes even with pandas!) daily! — Jeff Tratner 52 secs ago

StackOverflow is a place for problems and solutions, not to look for opinions on how to improve something that already works. You might try SoftwareEngineering or CodeReview instead. — Abion47 25 secs ago

Its pity to see a down vote on my comment. I solved GSS1,GSS2 and GSS3 on SPOJ and I faced TLE once on one of these problems then I improved my code using tips I mentioned above and it got accepted. Hence I thought it would be helpful others to mention here. By the way first two tips are taken from "Competitive Programmers Handbook" and memset tip was from a 400+ SPOJ problem solver. — rootkonda 34 secs ago

oh, I get it now, so the triangle call the function and the if statement became width/2 automatically but the line below it doesn't change the width. I had to play around with it for along time jeez self taught programmers must have a lot of dedication. — Justin Grave 48 secs ago

Whatever you want to return if the first condition is met, of(value) is a simple observable wrapped value. The technique here is what we call 'early return' so the code can be cleaner softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/18454/…Fan Cheung 40 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. Please read Open Letter to Students with Homework Problems. You can't just dump your problem statement here and expect us to do it for you. It's also a good idea to take the tour, read about what's on-topic in the help center, and How to Ask. — Chris 1 min ago

@Sweeper I understand it, but it is confusing for many programmers. Most programmers don't even know what things like literal, expression, statement really mean. Then you look at the code and you have to wonder why two similar assignments work differently. — Sulthan 42 secs ago

This topic might be better suited for Software Engineering. In regards to the interface: the lower coupling comes from the owning side: normally, the module that own A also owns IB. Thus, a change to B is - in best cases, invisible to A and in worst case breaks the interface-contract, thus leading to a compiler error. It is true, however, that a change to IB would influence all classes implementing it. This is, as far as my guess is concerned, one of the primary reasons default methods were introduced. — Turing85 40 secs ago
